A great aroma and powerful upfront hoppy bitterness give way to an explosion of citrus and pine flavours. A full on hop attack not for the faint hearted!

theprof (3271) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2021 Bottle. Bewildered how I have never reviewed this beer before; it is easy to find in these parts. Poured clear pale golden with lasting white foam top. Aroma is piney hop with a hint of citrus, but as usual the marketing people overstate their case; it's hardly overwhelming. Taste is similarly more of the same hoppiness with a momentary juiciness giving way to a longer souring bitterness. Some grapefruit pith especially in the finish. So let's be generous and call it refreshing. What it needs is sunshine and a nice beer garden. Palate is medium bodied, average to above carbonation, some drying in the mouth, and a long bitter finish. Some would see it as a session beer, but the conversation would have to compensate.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2020 Cask at Exeter Arms, Derby Pours a pale straw with a small white head and good lacing. In the nose there is mainly lemon with some floral hops. Flavour in the mouth is mainly grapefruit together with grass, generic citrus and some hints of pine. The finish is bitter lemon – it was quite nice up until that point !

Straw blonde colour with a finger of fine creamy white head with good lacing I didn’t get much aroma just hints of pine and grass Light in the mouth with an adequate carbonation to lift the palate Up front is the pine and grass with hints of citrus, more towards grapefruit and a tiny sweetness of honey but constantly dominating the palate and lingering by far the longest is the acerbic bitterness of pine.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2019 Cask at Mad Squirrel, in the presence of local CAMRA legend Noj. Lightly hazed gold with a thin white head and a light fizz. Light citrus, pine and grass. Dryish with a mild bitterness. Drinkable, but rather dull - but Noj made it more interesting than it deserved. Cheers Noj!
