UPDATED: DEC 8, 2021 Aroma; dark fermented fruits, some red wine of maybe bordeaux, sweet cherry liquor, acidic notes, wood oil. Look; dense persistent tan head on veiled mahogany body, hanging curtain lacing. Taste; dark fermented fruits, some notes of dark red wine, sweet cherry liquor, acidic notes, strong caramel syrup, wood oil, and lingering long finish. Feel; very foamy full body, but normal co². UPDATED: NOV 10, 2021 Brewed in 2017, bottled may 2020. Pours dark reddish brown with off white head. Sour cherries on the nose. Palate: sour cherries again, a bit vinous, dark chocolate, a bit woody dry. I first was a bit surprised on how sour this one is. In thesame category as Duchesse de Bourgogne, but without the too sweet element of that one. This one takes some getting used too and I will deffinately give it another chance later on.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2021 Flarra med vännen Omar. Vad är nu detta?? Doftar brännt stearin med jordgubbar?? Smaken lätt syrlig sedan jordgubbar o vinbär. Eftersmaken då är det tydligt att ölen legat på ekfat. Mycket ek smakar det!! Osså lite vin på det. Efter tag så går det faktist o dricka!!

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2021 33 cl bottle served in a snifter. Poured dark brown almost black with two finger light tan head. Aroma: plums, cherries, tart, vanilla, green apples, caramel, vinegar, citrus, old moldy basement/bookstore, funk, blueberries. Taste: sour...sour...sour! Sour cherries, tart, brettanomyces, vanilla, plums, green apples, wine, lemon zest, dates, dried figs, wine vinegar, oak, behind the fierce sour attack there is also chocolate, toffee, Calvados, pear, grapes, dates, funk, forest fruit, brown sugar. Silky mouthfeel. Sour fruity bittersweet finish. Absolutely one of the best flamish brown ales I ever had!

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2021 Old rating - 330ml bottle (2013 vintage) Picked up at the brewery, August 2015. Stored at home in my cellar for 2 years then poured. It's dense red / brown with a white head. Aromas & tastes of chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, wood, some alcohol & malt Medium body. Funky finish.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2021 Bottle from The Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. The aroma is insanely rich, it's as if it was made for me. Similar to barleywine, but far from that at the same time. Taste and mouthfeel are not that strong but the aftertaste is pleasant and the mouth doesn't ask for more. It's definitely one of my favourite beers.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2021 2017 vintage. Bottle @home. Marrone scuro, velata schiuma beige fine media persistenza. Aroma vinoso, acido lattico, caratteristico delle fermentazioni miste, amarene, tostato di caffè, vaniglia erbaceo, zucchero candito. Acido, tostata di cacao e caffè, caramello, frutti rossi, vinoso, erbaceo, vaniglia. Calda, spigolosa, carbonatazione vivace, astringente.perfettamente equilibrata e armonica

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2020 Pours a reddish brown with a thick white head, lacing still visible when I cleaned the glass the morning after. Full aroma - red berries, wood, vinous notes. Taste has some initial sourness but it quickly mellows and berries, prunes and red wine become equally prominent. Very fine indeed.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2020 Color granate oscuro, opaca. Espuma marfil de casi dos dedos de espesor y muy buena retención. Aroma intenso, vino, uva, madera, ligera manzana verde, cerezas y caramelo con claras notas de cuero. Sabor intenso, vino levemente dulce, frutos rojos, madera, manzana y cuero, final medio largo, de moderada acidez y un punto dulce, posgusto seco, alcohol muy bien integrado. Textura acuosa y ligeramente oleosa. Carbonatación media baja, mucho más baja de lo que aparenta al servirla. Muy rica, compleja y equilibrada, con tonos ácidos que se acercan pero no llegan al vinagre y un paso por barrica que enriquece sin dominar.
