UPDATED: OCT 29, 2021 Pours black with a thin, tan head. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, molasses and roast. Taste is chocolate and rich brown sugar, moving to espresso and roast. Finish is sweet dark mocha. Good stout.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2021 All kinds or loops and hurdles, but in the end it just tastes like chocolate. Like the elaborate multi-stage security system to Mr Burns' safe, which just ends up in a standard room by the side door

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2021 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate malt, vanilla, booze, dark fruits, licorice, coffee grounds, mocha. Flavor of sweet rich malt, booze, chocolate malt, roasted coffee and espresso, and dark fruits, raisin, more booze in the finish. Not super coffee heavy, but it’s there. UPDATED: AUG 17, 2021 Bottle, shared. Opaque black, beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, pralines, cocoa. Sweet, roasted, flavors of coffee, vanilla, plumes, umami, dark chocolate, nuts, warming sensation down the throat. Full bodied, oily, smooth. Great.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2021 Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, FL. Aroma is chocolate, tobacco, maybe some soy sauce, some kind of fake chocolate / malty cocoa vibe (maybe chicory), licorice. Taste is sweet and tangy chocolate, earthy / chewy malt, nutty, bitter forest herbs. At it's best, very unique and euro / herbal. At it's worst, the fake chocolate flavor seemed distracting. Worth seeking out tho!

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2021 Bottle from Deconinck. Cloudy black, thin, beige head. Aroma of pure mocha, coffee roast, fondant, toast, toasted chestnut, chicory, tobacco, prune. Taste has sweet mocha, prune & fig, some chestnut & peanut in a brown-bready body. Creamy edge. Bitter toast & roasted coffee becoming dominant, well into the earthy hoppy finish with earthy chicory, toast & cold coffee. Alcohol hinting at Irish whisky remains subtle. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Just a very strong cup of coffee in the end.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2021 Bottle at home in Hackney - can't remember where I got it but think it was at De Molen. Label has 2011 on it but ABV suggests this is the correct entry. Pours deep black-brown with a big, frothy beige head. Medium sweet with notes of milk chocolate, soft roast, lightly roasted dark malts, mild earthy bitterness, background coffee. Medium bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Mildly warming finish with a bit of ashy roast, raisins, bitter black coffee, baking cocoa. Pretty nice overall.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2020 Opaque black colour, very little brown head, aroma is strong, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, hazelnut. Taste is very sweet, medium bitter, chocolate, hazelnut, coffee. Amazing.
