COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In celebration of our 30th Anniversary, we are honoring our brewing family tree by creating beers with former Deschutes staff who now brew and work at other locations. This dark lager is a collaboration with Tim Gossack who is our former head brewer now at Bell’s Brewery! -- Brewer's Notes: This full flavored dark lager has some incredible roasty, toasty, nutty, and chocolate notes. Perfect for this time of year when the weather is starting to cool a bit. Enjoy!

GTAEgeek (4660) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 7, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2019 12 oz. can. Pours black, with a big, frothy, tan head. The aroma is bitter chocolate, caramel, leather, and a bit of cherry and herbs. Sweet and yeasty, with a mild bitterness. Medium body, with a creamy, thick, and surprisingly sharp palate. This is a clean, flavorful, and smooth lager. Nice!

zoucrew102 (4959) - - JAN 2, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2019 Can. Roasted malt aroma with notes of toasted malt, chocolate and nuts. Pours black with half a finger of mocha brown head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt and toasted malt flavors. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with chocolate malt and nutty flavors as well as roasted malt coming back through at the end. Pretty nice black beer.

3.3
BillKismet (4650) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 26, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2018 This brew pours a dark brown-black body topped by a lush chocolate foam cover. Easy cocoa roast notes emanate from the glass. On the palate, this one delivers easy roast notes and has an almost too smooth moutfeel. Medium to light-bodied with slight debittered roast notes and no discernable hops.

3.6
Drake (18900) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2018 12 ounce can from Woodmans Oak Creek, 11/7/18. Very dark brown, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, roast, nuts, a bit of caramel. Even a tad bit of smokiness. Taste is smoke, roast, chocolate, hints of dark fruit. A bit thin, sadly. Otherwise quite nice.

3.3
mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 13, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2018 12 oz. can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, some nuttiness, and a hint of caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted caramel, toasted nuts, and light caramel. Nicely robust, with a dry nutty finish. Good stuff.
