UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 12oz bottle from Arrow - Mason, bottled 6/17/21. I must love maple syrup in beer, because I just had the Branch & Bone Morning Candle, and am now gravitating towards this. Pretty sweet engraved bottlecap. Woody bourbon oak, dark fruit. Seems like some heavier roast than expected. Some maple syrup noticeable, not as clear as in the Candle I just had. Vanilla, some dark chocolate, also seems like there's a hint of oxidization too though, some ash, light smoke and leather, seeing the licorice... Moderate-plus bitter taste, that has an almost astringent bent, or mild bite. Moderate to bigger sweet. Little alcohol warmth. Bigger body, kind of creamy, light carbonation, light slick finish. Interesting, big beer to sip on slowly, but age is already showing quite a bit, not sure why this just showed up in our area only around a month ago, but it's not one I think will get better laid down.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2022 Deschutes Black Butte XXXIIII has a deep dark brown body with an average sized khaki head. Aroma of caramel, licorice, fig, and alcohol. Flavor is of cocoa, vanilla, fig, brown sugar. This is a bit muddled and not my favorite Black Butte anniversary beer. Okay but a bit underwhelmed compared to previous vintages.

AmEricanbrew (8281) - Oaklatx, Louisiana, USA - DEC 12, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2021 Bottle at trailer park tasting. Deep mahogany pour with fleeting tan sheen. Dark fruit, black licorice, leathery, dark chocolate, spicy whiskey aromas. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dark chocolate , black coffee, spicy vanilla whiskey, dark fruit flavors are on the sweet side—— nice warming tangy spicy alcohol finish __ tasty winter fireside sipper

poisoneddwarf (4653) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - DEC 6, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2021 12 oz. Aroma of cocoa, maple syrup, bread, wood, light bourbon. Pours black with no real head, just a thin skiff and collar of beige foam. Taste is moderately bitter and lightly sweet, finishing dry. Flavors like the aroma. Not bad at all, but maybe one of the least impressive entries in this series that I've had.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2021 12 ounce bottle from the four pack. Fairly rich and taste with some barrel notes and chocolate. Not too much body but still very good.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2021 Black pour with a thin beige head. Mellow aroma that’s dark and roasty with notes of whiskey and oak and a smidge of chocolate. Roasty boozy flavor that’s got touches of bourbon and wood and cocoa. Lingering earthy boozy tones.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2021 12oz bottle(s) from Woodman's in Waukesha. Cellared a month and served warmer than refrigerator temperature. Almost black pour with little head. Aroma has big sweet malts, big dark chocolate, light roast, cacao nibs, some anise, caramel & cream, some dark fruit, some wood, and vanilla. Taste is of smooth sweet vanilla & chocolate, sweet malts, cacao nibs, some dark fruit, and some cream. The warmer this got, the better. Fairly smooth, with a medium-to-full body, the blend is good to very good. This is pretty big, with a lot of nice components. Finishes fairly sweet. Some of this series have been excellent, this one settles for quite good. 15.2

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2021 Toffee. Vanilla. Bourbon. Dark fruit. Black with a very briefly erupting dark tan head that is gone as quick as it developed. Thick. Chewy. Velvety. Molasses. Vanilla. Toffee. Dates. A hint of bitterness almost like a bitter cocoa. And then a warm boozy finish. Very nice.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2021 Draft at Caffeina. Near black pour with a foamy beige head. Sweet roasty malt aroma, hint of maple. More sweet roast in the taste, notes of chocolate, light bitterness, vanilla and some bourbon at the finish. Pretty smooth with a nice weight to it.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2021 12 oz. bottle from Party Source. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, maple syrup, bourbon, oak, just a hint of a spicy note like anise, very good as usual.
