Obsidian Stout with coffee! The only way this could be better is if they had enhanced Black Butte. Oh wait, they did. Anyway. Pours black with a thick tan foamy head. Aroma of mocha, caramel, and christmasy spice. Slightly weak on the palate. Deep coffee taste to start, followed by chocolate. The coffee lingers.
On tap in Portland Pours a jet black with a brown head. Coffee aromas dominate. Flavor is a ncie mix between chocolate, coffee, and caramel. not too sweet. would imbibe in the future.
On tap at Deschutes in Portland. Nitro. Dark brown to black in color. Aroma was very heavy on the coffee. Flavor was similar but with hints of vanilla and roasted malt. A pretty good beer.
