COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep, robust and richly rewarding, this is beer to linger over. Obsidian has distinct notes of espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and black barley, with just enough hop bite to cut the sweetness.

nathanvc (4147) - Gent, BELGIUM - DEC 1, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2021 Bottle from Beer Republic. Hazy black, thin, beige head. Strong aroma of espresso, fondant, burnt toast, tobacco, brown bread, dried fig, chestnut, teriyaki. Taste has sweetish fig & prune, quickly engulfed by a powerful toasty malt body with accents of nuts, coffee and earthy-umami teriyaki sauce. Deeply earthy hoppy finish, dried dark fruits lingering but mainly do the espresso, fondant & tobacco, very dry and bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. It's almost a relief to have a 'classic' Stout like this again. Just perfect in all aspects, and in balance.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2021 Flaska. Svart med medelstort och beständigt beige skum. Dofter av kaffe, rostad malt, mörk choklad, trä. I smaken fyller det på en mörka bär och en gnutta vanilj. Halvtorr munkänsla, rostad avslutning. Medelstor kropp.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2021 This bottle is coming from the sterk, Amsterdam. Opening it two days with my wife during a storm that it is so common during this summer. The body is black and opaque, regular carbonation, white and brown foam. It is simply a solid and classical stout, on the way of the amager foreign stout. This one was for me almost perfect, dry with generous notes of roasted malt, coffee, cacao, vanilla, syrupy and mineral, regular side of hop at the final, boozy but it is not rough, lovely.

Fisler (2189) - Bamberg, GERMANY - MAR 27, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2021 Schon in der Nase lässt sich erahnen wie schön röstig das Stout ist. Deutlich Espresso, Zartbitter-Schokolade, langer trocken-rostiger Abgang, astrein.

Kita (3655) - Koper, SLOVENIA - FEB 2, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2021 Bottle, 0.355l. Aroma of caramel, nuts, cocoa, roasted malt and coffee. Pours almost black color with thin creamy brown head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet chocolate and heavily roasted malt, following is dark fruity, quite juicy and herbal, mouthfeel is smooth with rather dry and medium bitter finish. Medium to full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Close to perfection...

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2020 Bottle at home. This was dark and roasty. I could smell the roasty-ness as I poured it. It has a coffee flavour, creamy

I broke my rule on rating. I usually only rate beers if they are my first beer of the evening. I started with two more substantial, heavier beers. And this one just seemed thin and unsubstantial to me when I drank it. I give it the benefit of the doubt but I was totally underwhelmed by it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2020 A lot of interesting flavors in this one. Definitely some burnt charcoal like in most stouts but very earthy like licking a rock.
