"i prefer the hoppier west coast style ipa to this british style (which has been replaced by inversion ipa), but this one was one of the better british ipas out there. pretty sure we won’t see it again outside the pub in Bend."

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium creamy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and citrus. Medium bodied and moderately bitter with floral hops, citrus and malt flavors. Slightly peppery as well. The finish is citrusy with a lingering bitterness. Above average overall.

Pours an opaque amber with an off white head. Smells grassy, floral, peppery, citrussy. Tastes of bitter citrus and peppery with some metallic hints on the finish.

Hazy/cloudy straw color with pillowy white head. Very nice. Aroma is fresh citrus hoppy but there’s a tinge of malty bread in there too. On the palate the malt is more noticeable up front then the hops kick in, giving a nice sweet tangy character to this ale. Good, solid IPA. Long aftertaste. Juicy. Very drinkable.

I liked this IPA, just for everyday, pick up a six pack drinking. A little more robust and malty, but the hops still have a place here but they are a little more on the floral and herbal side, and definitely not at the forefront. A well-balanced very good take on the style.

Bottle. Not a big fan of English style IPA’s to start with. Had an aroma of wet herbal hops with some pine and lemon peel in the back drop. Had a strange finish, maybe a little too dry?

Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 7, 2007
No longer the retail standard IPA for Deschutes--Hoppy, but more on the malty side of the spectrum for a PNW IPA. Spicy robust finish and well-balanced.

Kind of a thin IPA, that pours with a nice white head. Could stand more of everything. Inversion is quite a bit better for an IPA.
