Bulk_Carrier (6064) - Vermont, USA - FEB 18, 2017Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown color with some rings of light lace.
The aroma had some mild roast, sublte sweet caramel maltiness. Lactose comes in after some warming.
The flavor leans to the roast and caramel malts first. Creamy lactose sweetness amplifies after some warming just like in the aroma. Mostly sweet imbalanced aftertaste and finishes with a slight syrupy contour.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Gets a bit syrupy slick in the feel. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, imbalanced sweet stout, though I was able to finish the bottle, just gets a bit too syrupy in the feel and finish. With so many good sweet stouts on the market, is this one I’d want to have again? Probably not.
luttonm (7592) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 27, 2016Bottle in Seattle. Thin tan ring, nice dark brown body. Mild roast, edge of sweetness. Solid, firm, bitter body with a light sweet lactic, metallic edge. Quite fizzy, some odd bitter chocolate notes too on back end. But nice and drinkable. Classic.

Ferris (23109) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 18, 2015Draft - Dark roast malts. Jet black with a nice light brown head. Lots of roast, some dark fruit and burnt toast. Nice bitterness and a long finish. Nice.
zoucrew102 (4959) - - DEC 21, 2014Bomber, thanks ctomson! Roasted barley aroma with light hints of dark chocolate. Pours black with a thin tan head and some lacing. Start well with smooth chocolate flavors and just a hint of the roasted barley with a creamy texture. Finishes with more of the roastiness coming through with it taking a more coffee-like flavor that adheres to palate. This was good to start, but the coffee like finish was surprising for a cream stout.
78samh (296) - Olympia, Washington, USA - OCT 17, 2014Dark with little head. Aroma is faint dark malt and vanilla. Taste is coffee and dark chocolate. Creamy texture with mild bitter finish. Not bad just not much going on here. Ok stout.

22oz for $4 at Huck’s in Spokane, WA
Poured from bottle to SN Pint
A: 2 fingers of brown foam fall to reveal surface within 2 minutes of pour. Black beer which I cannot judge clarity on.
S: Strong toasty, coffee grains. Unfortunately, this smells like it has too much black patent malt, very dry scent, like charcoal, hint of sharp chemical scent.
T: Very strong toast flavor is accented with notes of coffee, and hoppy resin. Not impressive. Finish is very dry and toasted to a crisp.
M: Low carb and body reminds me of a rauchbier. Unfortunately, there’s no smoke here to balance the charred feel of this beer.
D: This beer leaves one wishing the octane were a little higher. Needs more body. Quite a bit of improvement available here.

mintzmeet (457) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 24, 2013alcoholic aroma. dark roast. tastes very very similar to an oatmeal stout but without the thick texture, more of a light soda type mouth feel.
