Alkohol: 9,5% obj.
Data butelkowania: 20.01.2017
Kolor: Jaśniejszy niż w podstawce. Bliżej mu do brązu, niż czerni. Lekkie zamglenie.
Piana: Niewielka, szybko opada do koronki. Ma jasnobeżowy kolor i całkiem nieźle brudzi szkło.
Ostatni paseczek wciąż pozostaje przyklejony do piwa.
Umiarkowana paloność i silne owocowe tło.
Brzoskwinie połączone z dżemem morelowym dodają owocowego charakteru.
Świetnie komponują się z kawą. Słodko-kwaśny charakter tych owoców uzupełnia palone nuty kawy.
W tle pojawia się kapka kakao, gorzkiej czekolady, karmelu i szczypta pikantnych przypraw.
Umiarkowana tekstura, perfekcyjne ukrycie alkoholu.
Nisko goryczkowy, umiarkowanie palony finisz.
Wysycenie: Niskie.
Podsumowanie:
Pierwsze piwo z 4-paka wypuszczonego na Péché Mortel Day 2017.
Jest to Imperial Stout z dodatkiem kawy i brzoskwiń.
Jestem pod wrażeniem, że po 2 latach ten owocowy dodatek jest wciąż wyczuwalny.
Kawa niezmiennie buduje profil piwa.
Kwaskowaty charakter brzoskwiń i kawowe dopełnienie nadają trunkowi niezapomnianego owocowego charakteru.
Nie jest to jednak do końca mój klimat. Finisz jest zbyt kwaskowaty, wytrawny z palonymi kawowymi nutami.
W charakterze eksperymentu - duży plus.
W ogólnym zestawieniu - średnia klasa.
MartinT (10698) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 5, 2018My Bottom Line:
Toasted bread, earthy coffee and general fruitiness merge in this oddly compelling Imperial Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam laces atop the brown hued darkness.
-Can’t say I would have noticed the peaches if the label hadn’t mentioned them.
-Toasted bread aromas are reminiscent of brown malt at times.
-Light caramel is found in the finish, alongside the earthy coffee.
-Alcohol warmth licks the finish too.
-This is a very tasty pronunciation joke at the expense of American tourists. That being said, it is probably my least favorite of all Péché Mortel variations (the rest are absolutely stellar).
Bottle.
nimbleprop (12943) - Southeast, Washington, Washington DC, USA - DEC 3, 201712oz bottle pours a dark brown with a ring of white head. Nose has coffee, malt, some ice cream, some poached peach. Flavor is odd, caramel, roast, a bit of canned peach, fruit cocktail. Finishes with a fruity note. Not sure the peaches improved the product.
ljthiessen (1753) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 26, 2017Bottle. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Aroma is rich chocolate and coffee with a slight sweet fruit note. Taste is similar, peach is subtle but works quite nicely.
Maakun (10309) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - AUG 25, 2017Tap at Moeder Original. Very dark brown with lasting dark beige head. Strong coffee, lots of flowers, fresh peach, licorice, roasted dry malts, lots of berries, slick herbal candy. Over medium sweet, just medium bitter with very light tart touch. Over medium bodied. A decent beer, I love the pun in the name but peach and coffee just don’t don’t really work well together for me.
kermis (18395) - Amsterdam-ish, NETHERLANDS - AUG 25, 20177 3 8 3 15
Draft at Moeder Lambic Original. Near black with a light tan head. Aroma of coffee beans, roast, herbal notes, chocolate and peach. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation. Interesting to try but certainly not an improvement on the base.
martjoobolut (9757) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 25, 2017Tap at moeder original. Pours black with beige head. Aroma is coffee, fruits, peaches, roast, sweet. Flavor is sweet, bitter, sour, coffee, roast, peaches, ash. Finish is roast bitter. Overall: weird, but i like it.
Sammy (17445) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 22, 2017Cute novelty. Peaches like from a can in sugary syrup, combined with bitter peche mortel. Together OK but what is it? Dark brown.
Fullpintofbeer (692) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - JUN 16, 2017Tap @Dieu du Ciel, Montreal.
Medium beige head, very dark brown colour.
Aroma: coffee, vanilla, peach, plum, barrel.
Lightly sour with dry/coffee aftertaste. Full body, long finish, soft carbonation, thick.
Very good, smooth, no traces of alcohol despite its 9.5%.
bb (14189) - Alamo, California, USA - MAY 28, 2017Draft. Black beer with a brown head. Peachy aroma. Peach and light coffee flavor. Medium-plus bodied. peach and light coffee lingers. Flavors clash.
