Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAR 12, 2019UPDATED: MAR 12, 2019 Down to 9% abv now. Very drinkable and alcohol hidden well. I dont see what all the bad reviews are for. I knew this was a non-dark beer. It tastes chocolatey like a porter. Still good beer.
PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 21, 2016At Matty Capones with Pat, 2009 Pours a hazy dark gold with small head. Aroma of ginger, cocoa, molasses, pine, toasty malt, hops, brown sugar, spice: nutmeg, cinnamon and lots of sweet malts. Medium bodied with a warming body finish.
muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 16, 2016Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #2. See #1 (Asamai Shuzo Junmai Ginjo Hyosho (Diamond Dust) Sake for obscure, pointless explanation. Anyway, this came in a 750ml bottle from Winooski Beverage in Winooski, VT, and was consumed from a Duvel glass at cellar temperature on my porch as I read the third "Harry Potter" book, on November 8, 2008. Good memory, eh? No, I wrote that all down for some stupid reason. Anyway, it pours a big, big fluffy off-white head which laces just a little bit above the hazy reddish-gold, luminous body. Lovely. Delicate, soft floral aroma,, a bit of sour/tart wheaty character and hints of chocolate and honey that come on as it warms and I start to learn more about Sirius. Full, somewhat syrupy and (again as it warms) quite sweet body that doesn’t really linger enough. Meh, pretty good but it’s no surprise that I haven’t gotten a second bottle since, given the price.
oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 8, 2016Pours a deep dark amberfluffy head. Aromas of dark fruits, tobacco, chocolate, and some spicy pepper. Creamy mouthfeel of vanilla with pepper notes...finishes astringent chocolate.
Dorkenstein (564) - - MAR 6, 2016This beer is very different from what I thought it would be. The aroma is very peach heavy with bread and green apple. Taste is peach, honey, cocoa, green apples, then chilies and bread in the finish. After the beer has warmed up there is a more pronounced cocoa presence in the aroma and back of the tongue.
Learninbeer (937) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - NOV 14, 2015Marked as Bottled in 2008. The aroma is stale, woody. Pours a cloudy copper/orange with small white head fully diminishing and no lacing. The taste is a light bitter. The body is medium the texture is creamy a little thin, the carbonation soft and the finish a short bitter. I really liked this beer before, so obviously it has been aged too long.
tightslice (2689) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 2, 2015Bottle share at Evernote in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is honey, concentrated apple juice, mild hot cocoa. Taste is kinda herbal with some spicy / peppery bits but actually had some mild Belgian yeast spice qualities to me. More interesting in aroma than taste.
zvikar (11915) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - AUG 17, 2015Pours orange with a beige head, aroma of cocoa, honey and some spices, flavor of cocoa and spices, dark bread, medium bodied.
sinfull (2827) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUL 26, 2015Deep , amber color ; big , white head which quickly disappeared. Strange aroma of cocoa , honey , spices and malt. it was a case where my nose and eyes didn't agree )) , because my nose expected something dark . Cocoa and honey in taste , with distinguished chillies notes . Dry finish , and some pinching in mouth (obviously chili pepper ). Unusual and interesting.
yngwie (20302) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 13, 2015On tap at the brewpub. It’s an unclear, orange-colored beer topped by a minimal sized white head. Spices, a light funk, fruityness and some dried apricots in the aroma. Some alcohol notes in the far back. It’s full-bodied, lightly warming and with a nice carbonation level. Rather dry. Nice bitterness in the flavor, which else consits of the same fruityness and funk as in the aroma. And the spices, that lasts a good while. Not really fond of them, it’s a quite strange combo. Still, it’s a nice beer. 150621
