AxlLives (288) - Maryland, USA - FEB 9, 20084/15/06: 2006 bottle-12oz. Pours clear golden yellow with a average, creamy, white, excellently laced, mostly lasting head... Aromas of hay, straw, grassy hops... Taste is hoppy on the front and finish with a lightly sweet front and long finish... Med palate with a dry texture and lively carbonation... Damn this is good for a pilsner! Nice round finish... Kudos... Thanks to Matt from OD...
Goodgrief (2546) - Middletown, Delaware, USA - AUG 8, 2007Very hoppy...which I’m not fond of...but that’s my fault for not reading the label. Had a nice floral taste. Described on the label as a hoppy pilsner...and since I don’t usually like either...not bad.
cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - MAY 22, 2007Rated 8/6/06: Imperial Pilsners are my friend, this is above and beyond what I had expected. Aroma is malty sweet with an abundance of floral hops. Pours a golden slighlty orange color very rich and deep. There is a minimal white head and very little lacing. Rich and somewhat full there is a pretty decent feel to this beer. Flavor is extremely hoppy, more floral but I do detect slight citrus and piney flavors. The malts seem to be more on the sweet side. Completely unexpected I am impressed.
hoppymeal (38) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - MAY 11, 2007Pours light yellow to golden and crystal clear, white head dissipates quickly. A light grainy smell at first develops into a lightly sweet maltiness as it warms with a hint of bitterness. A peppery bitterness flashes on the tongue but is quickly balanced by the malt. The beer finishes crisp with some bitterness clinging to the inside of the mouth. My rating may somewhat reflect my predilection for ales, however if thirsting for a lager an imperial pils would be one of my first choices and this one is quite drinkable
MrBendo (1064) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - FEB 19, 2007Thanks to The_Epeeist for the bonus bottle. Clear yellow color with a medium head. Aroma of grass hops and sweet malts. Taste added in caramel. Medium body. Hoppy finish. Pretty good brew.
Zeswaft (1790) - Edmonds, Washington, USA - FEB 2, 2007Hazy gold with a finger’s worth of head. Aroma is part old potatoes, grassy hops, and a little alcohol. Flavor is robust. Very malty, definitely hoppy, and moderately bitter. A pretty damn good pilsener. I wish miller lite tasted like this. ha!
duff (5045) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2006Bottle. Golden. Aroma is sweet and slightly eggy/sulfuric. Palate is sweet and quite thin with some melony fruit characters. Quite malty, which was surprising.
Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2006Bottle @ Kookfest. Hoppy herbal spicy pine and some slight malt sweetness. Quite nice.
1FastSTi (3361) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 15, 2006Via The_Epeeist. Thanks for this 021606 vintage bottle. Listed as 45 IBUs and 7.5% ABV. The beer pours to a clean and bright golden body with a tall lasting white head. Fully lasting and airy head. Nice lacing. The aroma is refreshing. Lemons, saison-like. Delicate and balanced aroma. Some hard grating cheese. The flavor is quite good. Nicely hoppy but not overly bitter. Grassy, floral, noble. Some cheese and fruits with the malts. Lemons and peppery graham crackers with some buttery goodness. Decent palate. I’d say this version is a saison crossed with a pils.
harrisoni (24178) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 12, 2006Bottle at Kookfest 06. Golden with thin off white head. Hoppy aroma, grapefruit, bit of cheese? Dull in mouth, bit better than usual lager. Hoppy spritzey finish. Fine.
