UPDATED: JAN 11, 2022 On tap at The Beer Cellar-Glen Ellyn, IL. as a 9 oz. serving dispensed to a house snifter showing a clear, brownish amber color, with a decent layer of light tan froth, and thick ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was malt, toasted attributes, caramel, a touch of dried fruit, and a slight hint of coffee. Medium bodied, the taste was similar notes, with lively+ carbonation, and some mild fruit & earthy bitterness that included just a touch of roastiness. Crisp and somewhat dry on the finish. Versions definitely vary. More robust than a standard Altbier.
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2019 Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear Amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has biscuit and bread with a light earthy grain note and a light leaf note. Flavor has a nice grain and bread combination with a hint of sweetness supporting.
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2019 Draft. Hazed da k Amber pour. Aroma is toffee flavor is dense and toffee malty but dry with a finishing bitterness. A very simple and uncomolex aalt. I would have gone with a bit more aroma and flavoring hops but it's drinkable and more authentic that 99% of Amero altbiers.
