COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only available bottled (not bottle conditioned). This was the first beer brewed for the Duchy Originals organic range. The beer is brewed using a rare breed of organic barley - Plumage Archer - harvested from The Prince’s Home Farm at Highgrove. Duchy Originals Organic Ale has opted for a traditional, British barley variety Plumage Archer to give the beer a rich depth of flavour. The organic hops for this delicious beer are also British, First Gold, a new dwarf hop variety grown in Kent and Worcestershire. The beer is brewed to Duchy Originals' recipe. The Duchy Originals Organic Ale is a ruby-coloured flavour-packed beer which combines the rich caramel flavours of the barley malt with the signature ripe orange nuance of the First Gold hop.

Bitterbill (2959) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 26, 2017
From Jul 2007 Purchased at Wilbur's Liquors in Ft Collins for US$4.49 This one pours from 16.9oz bottle a clear amber with an ample head of foam that shrinks slowly leaving a fine layer and it has some good lacing. The smell has good notes of caramel malt and fruit. The taste is malt dominated. Plenty of caramel there with some dark fruit, mostly plum and fig. Pretty tasty. The finish, where most of the hop profile shows up, is on the dry side. This is a pretty easy ESB to drink and I know I could enjoy a couple of bottles without feeling too filled up. It's going nicely with the very warm weather we're having here in Casper... With the second pour, I'm getting a slight haze and the flavours are still holding my interest. I'm glad I picked up this bottle. :^) Good stuff!

Basic bitter. Golden, pale, and mild. Grassy hops, a little lemon, some earthy finish. Tried for the first time back in 2009.

Bottle picked up at Party Source from notes. Pours a hazy amber/copper color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, crackers, grass, light herbal notes, just not much to get excited about.

i think this might be decent as a pub ale, served warm via cask, but thousand of miles from it’s source, bottled, it just didn’t do it for me. All the boringness of a typical low abv English beer with few of the highlights.

Geruch fruchtig malzig, leicht hefig, hopfig. Geschmack hopfig malzig, fruchtig, leicht hefig.

jmohno (1835) - Iowa, USA - SEP 17, 2013
Hazy reddish brown. No head, low carb. Aroma seemed malty and rich and carmally at first giving the impression this was going to be stronger but was short lived and turned to Soy sauce. Smooth slickish, flat, watery, dull taste, has some butterscothch and carmel which makes it better.Seems stale/old. Flat and watery is not a good combo, probably poorly stored as well. Not shure how old this is either.
