nearbeer (7699) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 5, 2022UPDATED: JAN 5, 2022 Pint canned 11/08/21. Foggy golden brew with an inch high, creamy head. Aroma of bread, pineapple, peach, lemon and peppery evergreen needles. Tastes of peach, papaya, honeydew, and lingering spruce resin in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with smooth low-medium fizz and an easy drinking balance.
obguthr (10432) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - FEB 22, 2020UPDATED: FEB 22, 2020 Pounder: Lemongrass nose. Cloudy amber, medium sticky head. Lemon zest, spruce. Medium body, easy carbonation. Less citrusy hop bill would be better with spruce.
mansquito (12992) - Nueva York, New York, USA - FEB 17, 2020UPDATED: FEB 17, 2020 Draught at Barcade on St Marks: pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is pine and spruce and the like. Taste is bitter and full of tree. Lightly bitter.
DWestrick (1781) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 29, 2019UPDATED: DEC 29, 2019 16oz can. disappointing Imperial IPA - the spruce/pine was generic and funked.
Mr.Spooks (4080) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 23, 2019UPDATED: DEC 23, 2019 Cute packaging, pretty good beer. The spruce tips, usually way too aggressive when used as an adjunct, are actually unexpectedly muted here, providing the slightest hint of brisk, green woodsiness behind an otherwise old-school DIPA. Orange marmalade, pine, grapefruit, and resin lead to a bitter, oily, slightly warm fade. Not bad, but without the labeling I'm pretty sure I wouldn't pick out the spruce, instead thinking this pint to be a very West Coast take on the style.
