COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a keptinis, a traditional Lithuanian style where the malts are baked in bread-like shapes in a baking oven as part of the brewing process. It’s not the same as "Kurko ruginis elis", which is a rye beer.

henrik1985 (167) - SWEDEN - APR 9, 2021
UPDATED: APR 9, 2021 50 cl bottle from Systembolaget. The bottle says 'Lithuanian baked beer' in Swedish. Nice and dark amber color. Aroma... Some malt, hops and cumin. Smells very 'clean'. Taste... Oh boy, the bitterness is something else. It's very, very dry and bitter to the point of being completely overwhelming. I'm getting a hint of rye bread and some other 'roasted' notes, but the bitterness just overpowers all of the other flavors completely. Definitely no complaints of a lackluster finish here, as the bitterness stays around in my mouth for what feels like several minutes after each sip. Overall it's just way too bitter for my taste. I only bought one bottle which in hindsight was a good decision. It was interesting to try, but ultimately I can't really recommend it for the aforementioned reasons.

Gott

omhper (33492) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 6, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2021 Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy copper colour, small head. Aroma of bread, clover and cummin. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Bready malt dominates. Mildly spicy. Low bitterness. More refined and elegant, but perhaps less complex and interesting than the samples I had at Šnekutis farm in Pasvalys back in the days.

Svesse (12015) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2019 (Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 23 Aug 2018) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, coffee and brown sugar. Malty, roasted taste with dark bread, caramel, cola and a sweetish finish with low bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Interesting, quite bready and malty. A bit like a stronger version of Swedish svagdricka. Quite enjoyable.

solidfunk (16061) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 20, 2018
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2018 Certainly an interesting beer. Definitely a soggy rye bread vibe here. All thats missing is the borscht. Pours murky brown eith ok head and lacing. Caramel and some sour dough vibe. Tangy and sweet finish. On tap at Spunka.
