Poured from the tap. Black with tan head. Roast malt upfront, mild coffee, decent hopping on the finish.

mariuspoenari (3297) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - AUG 15, 2017
Dark brown pour with a medium-height coarse-grained tan head. Very hoppy right from the start, feels a bit more like a black IPA than a porter. Nice roasted malts, pine resin, citrus, dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, dark fruit, cherries, lactose, a bit of soft cheese. Really liking it, high carbonated, medium body, roasty and hoppy finish. Well done!

Nice bitter aroma. Bitter in taste. Too much carbonation (?). Tad hazelnut. Roasted. Slightly bitter. Mouthfeel is lots of carbo.

stantheman (2015) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 10, 2017
On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A black beer with bit of tan head and a faint and indistinct nose. Here we go. Hmm..a definite citrus hop note up front. Unusual for a porter. Creamy with rich cocoa notes, coffee notes. Basically a hoppy porter. Well, Top 50 for the style notwithstanding, this here ain’t my kinda porter. 3.6

Aroma: lots of roasty and nutty notes; Appearance: pitch black with creamy tan head that lingers; Taste: rich, dry, creamy with nice roastiness; some caramel and a little coffee and chocolate; Palate: heavy body with long, roasty/bitter finish; Overall: great porter. Would definitely get again.
