Taster at The Drake in Victoria with Farees and Brian. Pours an almost black with a weak brown head. Aroma is raspberry, roasted malt, some oak and coffee. Similar taste. Quite pleasant.

Small pour at New Moon. Pours like a porter. Light whiskey on the nose, berry oak and chocolate. Really well incorporated flavors, mild to moderatweyl sour flavor. Came together very nicely. Elegant.

37ml bottle @ home, acquired from the brewery. Pours an opaque nearly black colour with a thin off-white head. Nose is light coffee, roasted malt, and tart raspberries. Flavour overall gives the impression of a dark sour vs characters of a stout, it's light bodied and hits up front with a sour raspberry dominance but does lend way to some chocolate towards the finish. Mayhaps some additional sweetness could tone down the sourness and assist in adding some body. It drinks nice, but as per the label I'm not feeling this is as a BA Stout.

Aroma is faint cocoa, raspberries, vanilla, and sweet malts. Taste is a step in a different direction; the sour raspberry comes on strong and as it fades an artificial chocolate taste arises. No real stout profile here, more like a malty and creamy sour.

Bottle shared at my imperial ales and dexterity games birthday party. Tart raspberries, light vinegar, faint cocoa, but clean and tasty. The sourness is not overdone.

reebtogi (6488) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 9, 2018
375ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is raspberries and chocolate with some roasted grains. Taste is a raspberry tartness with a chocolate malty sweetness and a light roasted grain bitterness and dry finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a bit too sour for the style, should have a bigger malt bill and not getting much barrel aged flavors.

Gerbeer (5947) - Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 17, 2017
on tap. Pours back with a light head. Aromas of chocolate and red berries. Flavors of tart red berries, dark chocolate, and oily roasted malts. This is the way a sour stout should be. Quite good.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Dark color, near black. Aroma of mild coffee, brandy, berries. Good body strength; there’s a complete clash of acidity, coffee and fruit; light residual sweetness, some astringency in the final.
Not bad, but chaotic, unharmonious.

Dark brown, thin head. Tart, has a nice cherry and choc taste. Sweetness - just a touch up front. I like this more than I would normally like this type of beer.

Draft - Dark roast and raspberry . Jet black with a small brown head. Raspberry and dark roast. A bunch of conflicting flavors that are bold but still quite nice.
