UPDATED: NOV 7, 2021 DATE: November 6, 2021... OCCASION: family game night ends in a Monopoly victory for Will... GLASSWARE: Lindemans pokal tulip... pours a black coffee body with thick frappaccino-like light-cream head... bright, punchy coffee bean, light cream, chocolate and peat... alluring and full for a 6% ABV.... speaking of that weight, what a smooth drag this provides, with a textured, medium-bodied creaminess that thickens at the throat, coating it with a viscosity worth savoring... the frothy head is especially notable here, adding to the experience... coffee bean, vanilla, chocolate, grape, toasted oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and anise make this bigger than its ABV... what a great bedfellow in Elysian's pumpkin sampler... I will seek this out again next year, either in the sampler or as a stand-alone...

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2021 The last of my pumpkin beers for the season and this one's at least a year old. Starts off with an unusual coffee and caramel aroma. Quite dark, but appears a beautiful crystal clear copper/ruby color under bright light and topped with a foamy light tan head. There's a lot of vanilla initially followed by pumpkin spice and some woodiness. Then there's a lot of caramel/butterscotch sweetness that runs roughshod over everything and overpowers the palate. That hangs around for too long to make this something you can drink a lot of. There's some coffee (with too much creamer and sugar) in the aftertaste. A very interesting beer and it lives up to it's name, somewhat to it's detriment.

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2021 10/23/21 - Tallahassee, Fl - gift from son; 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark black pour, decently thick mocha colored head. Pleasant aroma, plenty of coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied flavor - pumpkin spice, bittersweet chocolate, day old black coffee. Chewy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

Beaver (2291) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 19, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2021 12 oz bottle, best by 1/29/22. Pours brown with a medium creamy light tan head that retains fairly well and laces the glass some. The aroma is a lot of floral pumpkin spice (allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon) with some roast chocolate malt. The flavor is lots of pumpkin spice (allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon) with vanilla and sweet pumpkin and a lightly roasted finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery. Overall, an interesting pumpkin beer but I didn't really get any coffee.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2021 From a 12 oz. bottle with a BB date of 25 April 2022. Handsome dark brown pour with ruby red hues believe it or not under a lasting tan head. The aroma. Coffee, coffee, and more coffee and perhaps a little bit of cinnamon or nutmeg. The coffee is over the top and that taints my review since I am not a coffee stout/beer fan. Smooth, medium body. The taste is sweet with an eruption of coffee but I will say that I pick up a little more pumpkin spice in the flavor than on the nose. Sigh. I got two more to get through. I have until next April.

coasternut (649) - VANCOUVER, Washington, USA - SEP 7, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2021 I don't like coffee and I'm not a fan of pumpkin spice drinks, but my wife loves them so I tried a taste of hers. To my surprise it wasn't too bad. It has a mellow coffee taste and not much pumpkin spice. The strong malt body and some sweetness balances out the beer. I didn't notice to much spice, which in my opinion is great. This is a beer I could probably drink/sip on. 'SURPRISE'
