COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beer and coffee are Seattle siblings, jealously dividing the day. Split Shot combines the talents of Elysian’s brewers with a pound per barrel of cold-infused, Seattle-produced Lighthouse coffee. It’ll open your eyes to a delicious new beer. Split Shot is the official beer of 2012 Seattle Beer Week.

ChainGangGuy (5514) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JAN 10, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body with a small-sized, light khaki-colored head. Smell: A chocolate-coffee nose with a softened, sweetish roastiness, a perceived creamy accent and touches of brown sugar and fruit. Taste: Sugar sweetened coffee that, with a touch of chocolate, gives a tone of mocha (also sugar sweetened) yet also has some cola qualities. A little dark fruitiness, a little tiny pour of cream. Finishes a bit sweet with that same chocolate-coffee-cream hint. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Lightly creamy mouthfeel. Overall: Simple though moderately pleasant.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2021 12/25/21 - Tallahassee, FL - Target - part of a Christmas 24 can variety pack. Sable black pour, creamy mocha head. Baker's unsweetened chocolate, topsoil, day old black coffee in the aroma. Delectable stout flavor, chocolate syrup, espresso roast coffee, a touch of topsoil. Creamy mouthfeel with nice lacticity. Not bad for a buck a can!

nick76 (4540) - Tampa, Florida, USA - NOV 20, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2021 Beers of Cheer holiday gift pack. The aroma is exactly as advertised coffee and deep roasted malt and chocolate. The appearance is dark brow with a small head that fades to night. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth but slightly thin for the style. Overall a real delight to drink.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2019 355ml bottle. (6.0% ABV) Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Aroma of roasted malt, espresso, dark chocolate and earth. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, lactose, licorice, ash and earth in a dry, mild bitter, coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Very tasty.

BenDover (354) - League City, Texas, USA - JUN 21, 2019

Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAY 30, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2019 Grabbed in a mix and match 6-pack from Harris Teeter and needed something decent as filler....but generally try no to support AB InBev. A lighter to medium strength stout. The coffee addition is nice, but could us a little more. Seems kind of like macro beer. Was expecting a little more based on Space Dust.

tfontana (3801) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - APR 26, 2019
UPDATED: APR 26, 2019 Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Total Wine & More, Burlington, MA. Appearance is virtually opaque dark brown with light floaties, nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, thin cap of light brown head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong roasted coffee, bordering on char, balanced with sweet milk chocolate. Taste is initial mild sour followed by strong sweet and roasty espresso. Palate is full bodied with thick, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a thick, meaty, robust stout. Perhaps I had it a tad colder than I should have but it reminded me a bit of a milkshake. Good.
