UPDATED: JUN 8, 2019 Not sure why the lower ratings.... Beautiful lager. Takes me back to the beer I sneaked from my dad's beer fridge 40 years ago. Wonderful mix of old time Schlitz and Blatz. Real flavor, balanced well. I really like this beer.

Bottle. Pours dull gold with white head and lacing. Nose of malty bread, and some hay and subtle floral notes. Light bread malt followed quickly by hay with notes of fresh cut grass. Some floral notes in the long, somewhat sweet finish. Medium-light body.

On tap at the Hilltop in Cross Plains, WI. dispensed to a shaker displaying a clear, orangey/gold color, with rising effervescent bubbles, a decent layer of white froth, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was soft grain, light lager scent, with a touch of malt sweetness, and a hint of corn. Medium bodied, assisted by lively carbonation, the taste was similar, including some earthy bitterness, and a slightly dry finish. A decent lager that refreshed, and complemented the food well.

Dark gold pour. Flat head, some lacing. Light aroma of malt. Some lighter flavor of malt, bread, and yeasty biscuits. The mouthfeel is full and heavy but the flavor is light. Not a whole lot of complexity here, yet it's very pleasant. The drinkability is through the freaking roof on this. A good all day quaff!. On tap @ Three Cellars. -Pete Beitz

Bottle. Milky barley malt and straw aroma. Golden yellow with nice off-white head. Mildly sweet milky barley malt and lightly bitter herbal hay flavor. Body a bit light. Not a bad beer - decent.

Dragonfly1 (500) - Colorado, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle from the local convenience store. Pours a rich copper, no head to speak of, aroma is very sweet, bready, heavy floral notes, sweet orange. Taste is somewhat interesting- more floral, cinnamon, bread pudding, but ultimately has too much of a buttered popcorn backbone to it. Not sure if it’s a flaw or what they were going for. Thins out quickly. This would do in a pinch, but otherwise one and done for me...

Esser’s is one of the lesser known and smaller Wisconsin beers. It pours a golden amber color with a good scent of malts and hops. Upon tasting there is a good full flavor taste that is long lasting and delicious. I was certainly surprised by it’s taste. A must try for any Wisconsin beer lover.

One of the better Pale Lager’s I have ever had. Lot’s of flavor, rich, and heavier than you would expect.

mcjay (884) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 21, 2011
Golden color with a foamy white head. The aroma is a little grainy and sweet with a hint of yeast. The moderate carbonation gives this brew a slightly fizzy mouth feel that brings forth a light fruitiness. The initial hop taste is followed by a hint of citrus and a tart finish.
