ineedbeer (3410) - California, USA - MAR 20, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 20, 2021 Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is somewhat fruity with pear, red apple and stone fruit notes. Lighter cherry and raisin notes. Moderate malt notes of toasted bread, caramel, honey and crackers. Light notes of alcohol. Pours a slightly hazy, copper-brown with some auburn hues and a large, thick, pillowy, light tan head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light acidity. Moderate notes of cracker and toasted bread with light notes of caramel, honey and nuts. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol notes. Medium notes or pear, red apple and stone fruit with lighter notes of raisin. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent Fantome with a lot of character that I remember from old Fantome. The bitterness and astringency are a bit strong, but malt and fruit esters are solid.
