UPDATED: JUN 19, 2021 It poured a cola color with a one inch, light tan color head that dissipated bro a thin lace ring. It has a roasted malt aroma. It has notes of caramel and burnt coffee. Slightly sweet. Good lager.

I almost didn’t recognize this because they changed the label. Then I tasted it, I haven’t had it in over a decade, but the flavor was instantly recognizable. It’s a good beer as far as old standards go, but it’s not moving the ball forward at all, it’s more of a well placed landmark. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

wombat23 (4235) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 18, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2019 Can. Clear amber, beige head. Looks promising. But alas, aroma/taste fails to live up to the appearance. Toasted malt, hints of chocolate, lager, metallic notes. Watery finish.

Tap at Todd English in Birmingham Alabama. Aroma has roasted malts and Cascade hops. Pours brown amber body with off-white lacing. Taste is medium bitter with some sweet malts in the finish. Palate is medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation and a odd herbal finish. I doubt the Germans would approve.

From tap at House of Blues, New Orleans. Aroma is dark malt with caramel, light roast with a touch of chocolate and nuts. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a mild roasty biterness. Body modest to medium. A bit better than expected, fairly dull but hardly bad.
