UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 Very dark brown with thin dark head. There's a sweetness to this that slightly overwhelms the bitter elements of dark malts, bitter chocolate and coffee. The sweetness reminds me of marshmallow. Still very good. Shame it is not more bitter though.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2021 Can shared at Embargo, Phnom Penh. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, toffee caramel, liqourice. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, sweet, sticky, treacle toffee, light red berry fruit, light boozy alcohol palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, licorice and alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long warm, roasted, chocolate, coffee and licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2021 Can from Specs in Austin, TX. Aroma is vanilla, dark roast coffee / latte, brownies, chocolate syrup. Taste is rich brownie dessert, tangy dark chocolate, creamy vanilla. A rich, dark chocolate and vanilla dessert beer. Not sure this beer needs the further whiskey aging that they've become known for. Outstanding on its own!

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2021 Can 44 cl, poured into a trappist glass. Pours an opaquish black with a small tan head and an aroma of cocoa, toffee, dried figs, vanilla, burnt malts, coffee, plums and licorice. The taste is medium to heavy sweet with a full body, a soft carbonation and a medium lasting both sweet and complex malty finish.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2021 1 pint can, served in a snifter. Poured black with one finger mocha tan head. Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, caramel, dried dark fruit, vanilla, roasted malts, plums, raisins, roasted nuts. Taste: dark bitter chocolate, dark roasted espresso, vanilla, caramel, fudge, plums, sultana, brownies sizzled with toffee sauce, hazelnuts, burnt muscovado sugar, molasses, dark fruit, dates, blueberries. Chewy mouthfeel, full body with a roasted bittersweet finish. Fantastic experience...

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2021 Pint with no canning date. Stout look with a half inch of spongy foam on top. Nose has cream, cocoa, bread and a hint of coffee. Flavors of the same plus charred wood and a bit of prune. Heavy body with low-medium carbonation. A little sticky but not cloying.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2020 473ml can. @ something like 9%, not quite 10. It pours inky black, very thick beer, tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and dark fruits, flavor follows, very rich and semi ashy/roasty, deep fruit notes, relaly nice.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2020 Intense deep sticky malty beginning. Smooth caramel, deep roasted malts. Hints of burned tires and plums, tobacco, burned caramel. Nice deep and intense back, roasty caramelly burned with an easy to drink back. Very nice and deep roasted brew. Dry and deep.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2021 Black with a minimal light brown head. Aroma of licorice, coffee and wooden barrels. Sweet with a warm wooden barrels and licoriceish Finnish. Nice night cap bb 05.2022, From Vinmonopolet Tromsø, jul 2020
