UPDATED: SEP 24, 2021 Pale 31 pours golden with a medium-lived off-white head. The nose reveals bright fruity notes of citrus, mango, apricot, and berries, combined with light earthiness reminiscent of noble hops and a hint of pine and caramel. The flavor is not as big as could be expected from the nose; it even feels a little watery but still fitting for a regular pale ale. The bitterness on the mid-palate is moderate and the finish hides the heat from the alcohol well. The scent of piney resin is a little bit more obvious upon taking a sip than in its nose. The carbonation might be slightly above average, but not enough to be in the flavors’ way by any means. A very nice one - I’ll have another right away.

Keg at the Euston Tap in 2017. Clear amber. Aroma of west coast hops, pine and biscuity malt. Zest citrus, peal and caramel flavours.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2019 This is a backlog rating from 2008 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time. Words to describe this beer are pale malts, citrus, floral notes, nice APA.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2019 Okay for watwcing baseball, but not a heck of alot of flavour. Some citrus and a touch of bitterness.

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, frothy white head. Aroma: Hoppy, citrus, floral. Taste: Refreshing over medium hopbitter, hints of citrus, orangepeel and flowers, slightly resinous. Medium body, average carbonation. Nicely balanced. Good beer.

This one is actually quite nice, a classic West Coast pale ale with a mild and almost subtropical nose and aftertaste. Not that much bitterness, but a refreshing ale, just as intended I figure.

Pours a clear, light golden, straw coloration with a medium, fizzy head. Smells of citrus fruit: tangerine, grapefruit, with a hint of pine. Taste follows the nose, with a hoppy citrus taste of tangerine and grapefruit, with just a hint of pine and biscuity malt coming through. Medium body and carbonation. This is your typical citrus/pine Pale Ale and a very solid one at that. Nothing special, but perfectly nice and easy-drinking.
