drpimento (6063) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 12, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2021 The aromas are an interesting blend of caramel and pine resin. Flavors are like nose, adding a little metallic, more sweet than bitter. Slightly soft carbonation with full body. Boozy finish of course. It's good but not great.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2021 Well into a session, I like finishing up with an IPA of some sort. I obtained the 12 oz bottle from the really nice people at Half Time. I pour inside of a ABGB tulip glass, because it just seems right with the Maryland/Texas confluence. I see a lightish amber body that has a consistent taupe head. The nose, interesting, hoppy like in the way of Dogfish Head 120 Minute, honey and herbal. A drink, wow, pretty impressive and I am not much of an IPA fan. A distinctly-from-the--field flavor, a bit of hops although providing some burn on the way down, honey and toffee to offset a nice bitterness, crackers and sweet apricots. Something of a beast all right with the ABV significantly covered up, a little here, a little there, I find this brew pretty fine, will certainly pursue it again. Beers like this, a bit off the trail, I appreciate significantly.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2021 Poured from a 19.2 oz can into a glass. Rusty red color with a little head. Sweet flavor, semi bitter, strong. Very strong. Share this one with a friend. Very nice for what it is.

huineman (1166) - Madrid, SPAIN - APR 28, 2021
UPDATED: APR 28, 2021 12 oz bottle from Labirratorium, stated at 12% (not 11,5%), served in a big snifter. A clean, dark orange pour (this is not amber, it's orange; pumpkin if you like) with a short-lived, off-white head that leaves a ring of foam. Aroma is very intense: sweet scents of honey or candy perfectly mixed with citrusy tinges (orange peel, kumquat) and a resinous whiff (like a conifer forest in which you were eating a candied orange, for example.) I expected it to be sweeter on the tip of your tongue, but it begins rather dry. Resinous bitternes ensues, not to leave the mouth for ages. Oily and slick, thank goodness it's crisp enough to balance that mammoth bitter kick. Very nice example of a West Coast style double IPA. It's neither Pliny, but maybe it's Lucretius.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2021 Twelve ounce bottle bought as part of mixed six pack bought at Hyde Park Remke, tasted on April 1, 2021. Hazy amber/brown hue, good bittersweet nose with citrus/malt/resin, somewhat syrupy texture, big robust flavor with same elements as the aroma with the hops really coming through and with an attractive mustiness. The 12.0 ABV (different from the 11.5 in the entry) is quite evident. A great beer from a fine brewery.

ccex (1960) - Lansing, Illinois, USA - MAR 29, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2021 12 oz bottle 2 months before 'best by date' pours an almost clear copper/amber color with decent off-white head that lasts and leaves a little lacing. Aroma has lots of pine resin and caramel, with some grapefruit and even some nuts. Taste ends up bitter despite the huge malt backbone. Body is full without much carbonation, so the mouthfeel is both creamy and oily. Alcohol is definitely present, but doesn't burn. An excellent big IIPA I'm surprised I hadn't tried until now.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2021 A beer without excesses, balanced in its style. I liked it, I found a very well brewed beer, made with craft. Tasting an ipa without excesses and well done is a pleasure

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2021 absolutely the goat. the equivalent of 3 nattys, the double dog is guaranteed to get you a nice buzz at the very minimum. be careful however: 1-2 dds will get you a nice wine drunk tipsy, but anything more can turn into a dangerous blackout. drink responsibly and enjoy.

Foxbush (3019) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 11, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2020 12 oz bottle from Total Wine and More In Short Pump, VA The ale poured a slightly hazy amber color with an off white head and some lacing. The aroma of grapefruit and pale malts dominate. The taste is dry with grapefruit bitterness and pine resin. The ale has a medium body with soft carbonation. The high ABV is noticeable. This may add to a lingering sweetness and bitterness experienced. There is a lingering bitterness after each swallow.
