Pours a dark amber color with a small amount oh head. Citrus and pine hop aroma, some caramel malt too. Taste is sweet and very bitter, finish is very dry. Lots of citrus and lime throughout. Not bad but too dry on the finish for me. A little flat too. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In short: A sweet and well-hopped (fruity and resinous) IIPA. Nice one.

The look: Almost clear dark-golden body with a long-lasting white head
In long: I had two beers at this pub and both were rather sweet. Caramelized malts but also a plain sugary sweetness sensation. Fortunately the beer is very very hoppy and ends-up rather well balanced. Fruity with citrus, earthy oranges and grapefruits flavours but also resinous and with a medium bitterness level. Very tasty. Long finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. This is a well-done IIPA except for that little sugary thing that bothered me a bit. I had to order it twice, the first time I said High-BU-Tiful the waiter gave me his phone number.

Tap. Hazy dark amber/orange, white frothy head, fades to film. Great lacing. Huge citrus zest and pine bitterness up front, big malt coming through as well. Flavor much the same, grapefruit and pineapple up front, as it warms caramel really comes out. Finish is huge pine resin almost harsh in a way, still a very nice brew.

This is good stuff..Better than any IPA i’ve had recently. Got a growler full and will demolish it during the Super Bowl. The only problem is the 7.75% reading... That will be like ten beers.. ;)

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2008 Tap: The aroma has lots of citrus hoppiness with some light tropical fruitiness. Transparent golden-amber with a moderate off-white head that lasts a minute or so with great lacing. The flavor starts with lots of tropical fruits and light pineapple. There is a touch of caramel in the background, but it’s mostly dominated by the initial fruitiness and strong grapefruit hopped finish.

Light golden-copper, slight chill haze but otherwise clear. Small, off-white head shows moderate retention, light lacing. Brisk carbonation in the liquid.
Aromatic hops are initially quite fragrant, giving off the usual grapefruit/orange notes and a bit of fruitiness, with a high floral component. It is somewhat short-lived, however, and becomes eclipsed by some malt notes of light caramel, toast and crackers. Bitterness shines through, leaving a leafy, rather pungent resinous character on the end. Very clean yeast showing little ester production. No alcohol noted.
Chewy pine sap is dabbed about toasty/bready maltiness, with high amounts of bitterness pushing the flavor balance very dry. Quite highly attenuated, with some fruity notes interjected amongst the acids and malts. Limited c-hop complexity with a very lean maltiness that too easily exposes the high IBU content. No alcohol noted, brisk carbonation further picks apart the malt. Everything seems well-made here, just lacking in innovation and it seems some higher temp mash rests would add some much needed body to their beers. Can’t complain about the lack of alcohol or other flaws in any of them, though.
