COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s been a dozen years since we’ve brewed a lager—and, true to form, we’re going big with Dissenter India Pale Lager, our argument in favor of the potential for complex lagers. Brewed with a wide variety of tropical, citrus-forward hops, Dissenter clocks in at 8.7% ABV and 70 IBUs. Our ales are fermented at warm temperatures, but this lager is fermented cold, using a different kind of yeast. The longer brewing process used for lagers gives Dissenter an exceptionally clean finish, allowing you to appreciate the clear beauty of the hops as you would a well thought out, eloquent dissenting opinion. We’ll let this one speak for itself.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A clear dark golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of resionous hops, reddish malt, spruce. Taste of intense bitter resinous hops, pine needles, red malt, caramel, long resinous bitter finish.

2014 vintage. Fresh and fruity deep thick nose. The beer starts deep and rich. Lots of floral piney hop oils, moderate sweetish-dry body. A bit viscous, honey-like, very dry. Fruity and moderate bitter in the back, round and deep, pine and resin with a dry grainy bitterness. Very dense and rich with still a high drinkability. Interesting!

Beautiful golden color, the smell is yest, wheaty, the taste is very bitter, very hoppy. Not very malty, needs a little more ABV but at good beer.

Bottle:   Let me just start by saying that Founders can seemingly do no wrong.   This is one of those examples where you cross two styles and it works, works well.   Vibrant straw in color, perhaps a tinge of orange, nice moderate to large foamy off-white head, with nice lacing.   Sweet bready aroma, light, almost grassy but not quite.   Smooth on the tongue, well balanced, even a bit chewy.   Its like the best of both worlds, slightly hoppy but the body of a rich lager.   Big thanks to pailhead for sending one my way.   Generally not a big fan of the style, but this one drinks way too easy.   Its a bit warming too which ain’t bad at all.   Great beer!

Maybe a touch past its prime. Like a big thick Pilsner, still with some spicy and grassy hops, clean sweet leaning grainy malt. Full body for this style. I like, but didn’t love it.

Pours a hazy gold color. Thin white head. Some lacing. Aroma is a bit perfume like. Biscuit like malt character with an earthy hop finish.
