UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 12 ounce bottle. Rating number 5,600. Opaque dark brown pour. Finger high fluffy tan head. Roasted malt aroma has notes of coffee, cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla and coconut. Flavor upfront is big and boozy. Notes of cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon and subtle oakiness. This brew drinks young, as it was bottled on 09/02/21. Nonetheless, it still tastes great. Cheers to 2022 and onward to number 5,700 and beyond!

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2022 Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of cinnamon, creamy chocolate, caramel fudge, vanilla, soft roasted malt, fruity coffee, bourbon and a little sweet cherry. Taste has nice spicey cinnamon, caramel fudge, bourbon vanilla, earthy vanilla, creamy coffee, milk chocolate, soft roasted malt, licorice, molasses and a finish with mostly bourbon and cinnamon. I love this, great variant of the amazing kbs, although you got to like cinnamon.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2022 Pours black w/ a mocha head & good lacing. The aroma is roast & a little vanilla. The taste is somewhat bitter with a hint of vanilla. Not picking up any barrel aging. It’s just ok on the palate & overall slightly disappointing! Least favorite of the KBS series!

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 Black with a large light brown head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate in the aroma. The flavour has plenty of cinnamon along with some vanilla, chocolate, light fudge and caramel. Full body, oily texture, light carbonation, medium to heavy sweet and bitter. Soft and warming finish with cinnamon and chocolate. Good beer, but not my favourite of the KBS/CBS lot; the cinnamon dominates too much for my preference.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2022 My first beer of 2022, 355ml bottle just after mid-night on New Years Eve in California at my daughters place. Poured into a beautiful Kasteel glass, it's black, very black, dark beige/tanned head. It was a bit too much like a vanilla flavoured coffee, the cinnamon didn't help the situation either. Slick body feel, but the underlying sweetness was too overpowering for me.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Allowed to warm for 20+ minutes from a ~40°F refrigerator temperature. Impenetrable black topped by a tall, dark khaki, bubbly head, creamy on top with large bubbles developing underneath, leaving plentiful sticky lacing as it recedes. Moderately strong aroma. Cocoa to the fore (and to my nose, it is cocoa, not generic chocolate), with some vanilla and a little spiciness behind. The spiciness may be cinnamon, but it is not strong enough for me to be that distinct about it. After a short while, the cinnamon becomes more obvious. The initial taste is a symphony of flavors all at once. Cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla, barrel, and bourbon. All backed by a bit of alcohol warmth. The flavor that leads the pack for me is, as with the aroma, cocoa. The middle develops a kind of a baker's chocolate bitterness (perhaps actually from the coffee) that continues through into the finish and aftertaste. The vanilla is secondary, but still strong throughout, along with the bourbon and cinnamon. I don't get much, if any, coffee anywhere. I appreciate that the cinnamon is a secondary flavor, providing a nice accent. The finish has a nice bitterness and is relatively dry with very little residual alcohol warmth. Mouth feel is moderately thick. Overall, while not my favorite in the BA Imperial stout landscape, it is well done with the flavors well balanced.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Das KBS in all seinen Facetten ist das geilste, was die Bierwelt je gesehen hat. Auch der Vertreter ist wieder erste Sahne. Herrlich cremig, Schokolade, Vanille, ein Hauch Zimt. Dabei unglaublich, ja gefährlich gut trinkbar. Noch eins, bitte!

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2021 Bottle from Beer Hop. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, sticky, big hit of vanilla, bourbon, vanilla fudge, toasted marshmallow, plenty of coffee, chocolate, cookie dough, gateaux, warming spice and cinnamon buns. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, roasty vibes, earthy, warming spice, cinnamon bun, boozy fun times, vanilla, toffee, cake frosting, toasted marshmallow, chocolate cake, bourbon soaked oak and a touch of tannin with a drying finish. Fulsome body and fine, prickly carbonation. Vanilla and cinnamon are done with a soft touch, which works well.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 Bottle at trailer park Christmas week tasting. Deep dark pour with tan sheen. Nice tobacco, dry chocolate, deep roast, vanilla aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Dark roast coffee spicy herbal tobacco flavors with lightly sweet vanilla, dark chocolate, whiskey barrel—- deep roast, vanilla whiskey, mild cinnamon—- warming drying bittersweet finish __ very tasty fireside sipper

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2021 35.5cl fles. Tweeschijn zwart kleur, fijne romige bruine. De geur is kaneel en vanille. Smaak is zoet, kaneel, peper, whisky en vanille. Vol body en veel koolzuur.
