COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Full body and a well rounded flavor comes from a foundation of nine different grains. The oats add a special silky texture that complements the roasted malts. The rich malty flavor is spiced with plenty of Northern Brewer and Fuggles hops for balance.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2021 Free State Oatmeal Stout has a thin, cola-like, white head, a very dark brown appearance, with ruby highlights, as the light strikes it, and no lacing. The aroma is muted, but one detects dark bread crust. The taste is the same, with low bitterness. F.S. Oatmeal Stout has a low-medium body and a dry finish. RJT

Beaver (2291) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 16, 2018
12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium creamy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet roasted oats and chocolate malt.

The flavor is sweet roasted malt and some black licorice and fruit with an ashy bitter finish. The mouthfeel is rather thin and watery and nitro like.

Overall, a nice oatmeal stout. I remember liking this more last time I had it.

Drank right from the bottle; big thanks, moody. Has a big dark presentation. Could be a sweet stout but it tries to get into the more bitter stout or even looking at impy stout with its 6% and all shit. Yes, big and almost bold, but never quite gitz-thar. Goes down pretty easy, somewhat bitter burnt damp wet fire wood that was put out a couple of days ago, just not quire charcoal. Even has some attributes of baltic porter. Gets better as the session continues thru the middle but becomes a tad medicinal in the end.
