Spab (8221) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 7, 2019
UPDATED: APR 7, 2019 355 ml can from the Beer Store. Pours a cloudy golden orange colour with modest-sized white head. Aroma is leafy, grassy hops with caramel and grains. Flavour is green, grassy and herbal hops with caramel and graininess. Modest bitterness in finish. Solid, but would like to try this fresher.

Metalchopz (5735) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 20, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 20, 2019 6-pack at The Beer Store. Pours a fairly clean golden colour with a big white frothy head, with very good retention and creamy-foamy lacing. The aromas are close to the ones I just had in the Red Racer Super Solar IPA with the greener notes of grasses and leafs. Not as strong with orange undertones and hints of sweet yeast. This last one shows up quickly in the taste but gets bludgeoned by the hops. Some fruitiness in there, but all hailed by bitter hops and pine notes. After the storm, some nice yeast shows up again on the tongue with hints of fruits that lingers. Not my type of IPA, but if you like West Coast IPAs that dry up your mouth... this might be for you.

Freaky_tiki (1770) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 3, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2019 Can from 6-pack from distillery district. Old school retro west coast ipa. Which is actually quite refreshing in 2019 with all the lactose & fruit being jammed into ipas. Very straight forward but satisfying to this hophead: sweet malt spine crosslinked with nice bitter hop cones. I’d cut the sugar, increase the hops & insist on selling fresh. Good.

It was ok. smell is kinda skunky hops. taste is watery and a bit on the bitter, crisp side. nothing remarkable and not really my favorite. Tried about 6 of their beers and this fell somewhere in the middle.

Pours cloudy orange. Medium body texture. Lots of white head that leaves lacing behind. Bitter finish. Not overhopped, not bad IPA.

Tap into a shot taster showing turbid pale gold with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows moderately intense pineapple, kiwi, and light pine. The palate is well carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately intense notes of NE style malt with balanced on pine bitterness on the finish that seems to last a little too long.

Was true to the IPA style with a good amount of hop flavour. I would like to visit their Richmond BC facilities.

Poured from the tap at the brewery. Slightly hazy golden yellow with white head. Resinous citrus hops with a bitter finish.

maekchu (5321) - JAPAN - AUG 20, 2017
Can from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Strong citrusy nose, with quite a bit of yeast, and some light mango. Hazy dark amber color, with a fat frothy head and sticky lace. Caramel, citrus, yeast (again), and mild tropical fruit flavors. Thin-medium body, a bit overcarbonated and gassy. Overall, well balanced ... but the yeast aroma and bite are a bit too much.
