UPDATED: MAY 26, 2019 Tap @ Beer Boy, Nakameguro. Nice clear golden pour, finger width of foam on the top. Looks legit. Fresh nose, crisp malty base with a touch of noble hops. Tastes malty, some sweetness, bready and crisp, refreshing. Has been my favorite Japanese pilsner for years, always happy with this.

Half in Good Beer Faucets. Hazy bright amber beer with a medium soft white head. Nose is big grassy, hay, straw, wet hay, toasted grains, light cereals, huge grassiness, honey. Taste is big grassy, hay, wet hay, toast d cereal grains, dry lager yeast, sweet barley malt, touch of citrus bitter and sour. Great lager.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2018 Draft at Beer Fes 2018. First time for years, first time on tap. Clear gold, low head, grainy malts, noble hops, lemon, faithful to style, pleasant to drink, goes down smoothly with a nicely hopped and spiced finish.

Touch of haze. Bright pale malts, herbal hops, good bitterness. Nicely balanced pils. Quite good pils

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2020 On tap into a plastic cup showing clear filtered dark yellow with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows light tropical hops and malts. The palate is perfectly and smoothly carbonated and medium to full bodied. Begins with flavors of light apple to lightly sweet and grainy malts with the final pils bitterness to finish it off.

Citrus, hoppy, crisp tasting beer that finishes very refreshing.I might have had a better Japanese brewed pils over the years, but offhand I cannot think of one.

On tap at Watering Hole. Crystal clear straw color with a medium-sized white head that lasts throughout. Aromas of grain, biscuit, peach and papaya all present. Taste is more of the same with the malts really standing out. The fruit flavors take a back seat to lightly peppered hops. Great take on a pilsener and so good served fresh on tap.

A bit of an interesting take on a pilsner. A nose of grassy hops and slight tropical fruit. Brilliant gold, slightly hazy body looks inviting, and comes through with some peach, earthy hops and a pleasantly crisp finish. Nice to see a beer like this from Japan. Good. Thanks to KansaiBeerLvrs for the bottle.
