Zlotta (7579) - Hagen, GERMANY - JAN 24, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2019 0.5 l bottle from 'BierPost.com', bottled in April 2016, cellared for about two years. Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and a bit herbal-grassy aroma of marmelade, raisins, orange peel, tea leaves, vanilla and some whisky. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bitter, gently fruity, slightly herbal-grassy taste of raisins, marmelade, tea leaves, orange peel, vanilla and some whisky, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly herbal-grassy and a bit boozy finish with a touch of wood. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very rich and saturating stuff, quite pleasant, just a bit too much carbonation for such kind of beer.

imdownthepub (22082) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 1, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2019 Bottled, 500ml from The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Ruby sherry colour with white head. Smooth beer with a big malty character, caramel, toffee along with a Spanish Sherry character. Some oak, woody notes but not overly noticeable for me. The alcohol is to the fore, fruity, raisins, sultana's, prune. Big old beer for a big old price.
