The taste of whiskey persists throughout, rather to the detriment of other flavours although raisins and Christmas cake are discernible. Moderate carbonation.

Aroma is cherry, fruitcake, marzipan, vanilla, Christmas pudding, dark malts, raisin and sultana, boozy traces. Taste- boozy fruitcake, vanilla, oak barrel, cherry chocolate, bitter hops, malty, oaky vanilla cherry finish, full-bodied. Very good.

Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast and touches of barrel. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and yeast, with notes of barrel and hops and touches of fruit. Dusty and estery aftertaste with acidic hints. A nice one.

Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and a bit herbal-grassy aroma of marmelade, raisins, orange peel, tea leaves, vanilla and some whisky. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bitter, gently fruity, slightly herbal-grassy taste of raisins, marmelade, tea leaves, orange peel, vanilla and some whisky, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly herbal-grassy and a bit boozy finish with a touch of wood. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very rich and saturating stuff, quite pleasant, just a bit too much carbonation for such kind of beer.

Smooth beer with a big malty character, caramel, toffee along with a Spanish Sherry character. Some oak, woody notes but not overly noticeable for me. The alcohol is to the fore, fruity, raisins, sultana's, prune. Big old beer for a big old price.
