COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly bottle conditioned; Special. Has been seen on cask.

This limited edition brew is a unique collaboration between brewery and beer writer. Melissa Cole brought her vast experience to the tasting table and helped us deliver a stout worth writing home about.

Brewed in the traditional style that became a favourite royal court, this limited edition Imperial Stout has been specially created as a single brew. In a unique addition to the historic recipe, the floral character of the Centennial hops is enhanced by the inclusion of rose buds, lending a hint of Turkish delight flavour to the beer. This Imperial Stout has a rich, dark appearance with strong chocolate and deep cherry notes which lead to a lighter, bitter finish.

hauxe (3004) - Butzbach, GERMANY - JAN 10, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Pours virtually black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, plums, berries, brown sugar. Taste is slightly sweet up front, followed by a long, burnt, bitter finish over a berry tang. My only complaint is the increasing acidity at the finish, which is just a touch too much. Medium-bodied, mostly mild carbonation, sticky. Pleasant drinking.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2021 Best before 2023, but been in this box, in my house for a while. Pretty close to black colour with a mocha-beige coloured head, and a nice ring of creaminess that stays around the brew. Raisins in the aromas with the roasted malts base. Hints of hops, grassiness. The taste gives out coffee, and lots of bitterness for the style, and this brewery. A decent dryness in the finish that lingers, with some mild warming alcohol. Nice.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2021 Bottle ... 2014 vintage. How have I not heard of this one before. Poured a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Roasty and dark fruits with alcohol hidden. Straight forward IS that aged nicely.

mkcmagico (1100) - Mezokövesd, HUNGARY - AUG 5, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2021 0,5 bottle. Díszdobozos, elvileg három éves, én magam is őrizgettem picit. Szép. A címke, doboz, illik a mély- földes-barna sörszínhez. A szám ragad közben, utána.

tombyars (2187) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 8, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2021 500ml bottle purchased at Waitrose, Milngavie, Glasgow and sampled on the 28th February 2021. Dull black in colour with dark ruby tints to the edges and a thin buff head. Strong complex malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, treacle and a subtle hint of Turkish Delight. Thin oily mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark complex malt delivers a maltloaf base with a complex range of flavours. Roast malt, burnt molasses, dark Bournville chocolate, dates and floral rose water notes present in the mouth. Cannot detect any hop resins in the aftertaste. Smooth malty finish with black treacle to the fore, along with dark chocolate, liquorice, syrupy dates and Fry's Turkish Delight flavours all present in the mouth. An excellent Imperial Stout that disguises high ABV well at the beginning but does come back to haunt you later on.
