COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since 1845 every Fuller’s Head Brewer has kept a hand-written book of brews. the Past Masters series is a glimpse into our unique brewing history, using our archive of knowledge to revive long-lost beers for today’s connoisseurs. Brewed in 2017, old London ale is the eighth beer in the Past Masters series. Old London ale is brewed to a Burton old recipe from 1905, selected by our brewers alongside beer historian Ron Pattinson. Stronger than mild and darker than bitter, burton old was a particular favourite in London pubs - especially during the colder months. As a bottle conditioned beer, the flavours will continue to develop right up until the moment the bottle is opened. This beer will form a natural sediment, so pour carefully and enjoy.

Svesse (12015) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - NOV 29, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2021 (Bottle) Dark reddish amber colour with firm, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, figs, apricots, orange peel, caramel, dark bread, nuts and a touch of chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried figs, apricots, caramel, bread, nuts, dark chocolate, a touch of pink grapefruit and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. This is actually a small masterpiece of how to make a great, tasty and very well balanced ale, without making it extreme. Very nice.

DraftDodger (5615) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 8, 2020
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2020 Copenhagen 29/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Salling, Søndergade, Aarhus. Fuller's usual design for the Past Masters brand with a lot of old brewers in a black and white photograph. Very gushy upon opening. Pours unclear, murky reddish , dark brown with a big off-white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is fsirly intense with a strong sugary and sweet odor of caramel and dark fruits mingling with a lighter grainy soirness. Caramel, toffee, plums, sugar. Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, fat, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a light bitter undercurrent. Lightly bitter finish with a modest boozy streak. A sweet and sugary brew I imagine would be well suited for drinking after dinner in front of for a roaring fireplace.

LarsLovesBrew (78) - DENMARK - JUL 19, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2020 Dark brown and hazy, tan head that leaves some lazing. Aroma: Dried dark fruits, malty muscovado sugar. Taste: Bitter-sweet. Complex. Woody. Long finish. Soft , medium carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Fantastic stuff. This is the kind of beer I long for, after a day of tasting new, 'hip' beers. Preferably from cask and not too cold, but a bottle will do nicely. English beer is amazing.
