Idris Gawr surveys existence atop this gentle peak. Is that fig & plum mingled among the biscuits? That soft brightness; orange zest & cinnamon with a touch of red currants? Everything deep; nothing brash; wonder and beauty!

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2021 Pours a deep copper color with an oddly fizzy head that dissipated quickly. Fairly simple aromas, with heavy malt, marzipan, fig newtons, light anise, and touch of yeast. Alcohol well hidden in the scent. With the effervescence the liquid does float well across the palate. Mild sweet malt is the first thing to hit the tongue. Mild heat in the back, but not distracting. Mild fruit creeps in. Plums and marmalade along with some mild buckwheat honey. Bitterness gains strength as it warms. Simple, yet enough nuances to keep one's interest. I often get tired with a larger (0.5L) barleywine, yet I'm nearly done with this one and I'm still enjoying it. Nicely done.
