UPDATED: JUN 3, 2021 Shared bomber poured to a snifter showing a black/brown hue, with a presentable layer of brownish tan froth, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was highly roasted, with cocoa, coconut, some dark caramel sweetness, slight star anise, and cinnamon. Medium to full bodied, the taste was as the aroma, with moderate carbonation, continued cinnamon spiciness, solid whiskey warmth, and roasted & tannic bitterness. A very successful, 7 year cellaring.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2021 Opaque black with a medium tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, cinnamon, panela sugar, sweet yet rye whiskey, with light booze in the finish.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2019 Amazon beer. Tasted from bottle aged 5 years. Pours black with beige head. Aroma of cinnamon, spices, cocoa. Mouthfeel is sweet, sticky, chewy, thick goodness. Flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, rye spice, cocoa. Perfect BA adjunct stout.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2019 Served at cellar temp in a snifter. Slick mouthfeel, and sweet vanilla, chocolate and coconut on the palate. No signs of age. Drinking very well.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2019 Bottle shared at Alex's birthday. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige head that dissipates quickly. Big coconut forward nose with oaky vanilla and deep cacao nib aromas. Smooth with lowish carbonation on the palate. Coconut, hazelnut, mild cold brew coffee and deep cacao nib on the palate as well. Everything is well integrated with bourbon and oak framing everything very nicely. Really great.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2019 32oz crowler. Pours a nearly pitch black in color and capped with a small beige head of foam that settles in quickly to a thin film. Looks like motor oil in the glass with a nice viscosity. The aroma is really nice and shows notes of dark cocoa, earthy roast, cinnamon spice, light toasted coconut, rye spices from the barrel and whiskey soaked oak. Just a touch of oak laden vanilla peaks through as well. The flavor follows suit with the dark cocoa and cinnamon spice up front to mimic a Mexican hot chocolate followed by toasted coconut, caramel, earthy roast, and whiskey soaked oak. The rye notes from the barrel blends perfectly with the spicy cinnamon while notes of toasted vanilla adds further depth and balance. Full bodied, thick, and slick on palate with soft carbonation that leads to a dark cocoa, toasted coconut, spicy cinnamon and whiskey soaked oak on the finish with some lingering spices from the cinnamon and barrel. Really tasty stuff and perfectly executed with no heat from the alcohol at all. Awesome barrel aged imperial stout.
