somenomaddude (1) - - AUG 21, 2021 does not count UPDATED: AUG 21, 2021 Brilliant in it’s simplicity. Coopted by bearded millennials for a decade (thanks for bringing it back into the mainstream) and now again a rare and difficult bar find. This is Minnesota in a bottle.
Carlisle (1406) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2021Bottle. Sparkling straw color with white head. Grainy bread aroma. Grainy bread with apple fruit notes and a touch of sourness in the short-medium finish. Light body.
ajnepple (12995) - Lakewood, CO, Colorado, USA - MAR 3, 2020UPDATED: MAR 3, 2020 12 oz via bottle at Grit (Willey, IA). Clear golden appearance. Aroma of toasted grain and light lemon zest. Similar flavor, adding mild sweetness and a hint of bitterness. Light bodied and easy to drink overall.
o_Merlin_o (283) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2019UPDATED: NOV 14, 2019 Sampled in a blind taste-test on 11/10/2019. Pours extremely light - like yellow colored water. Very aqueous. Zero head. Wet leather aroma.
alexsdad06 (16451) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 27, 2019UPDATED: JUN 27, 2019 This is a backlog rating from 2011, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again. Words to describe this beer are grainy, corn, sweet.
bpar73 (1549) - Elk Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 14, 2019UPDATED: JUN 14, 2019 On tap at Holiday Beach. Yellow/gold pour with a white head. Slightly sweet but crisp. Much better than I expected.
MetalNHopHead (2791) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - MAY 25, 2019UPDATED: MAY 25, 2019 This is about as good as a beer from clear bottle is going to be. Surprisingly, it's still not too damn bad. Shockingly, this beer wasn't skunked despite having no defense at all against light penetration. It wasn't necessarily surprising that this beer had a sweet cereal grain taste. However, it was more crisp and satisfying than it really had any right to be. For swill, this is actually quite decent.
ccex (1960) - Lansing, Illinois, USA - FEB 8, 2019UPDATED: FEB 8, 2019 12 oz bottle pours a clear golden color with wmall white head and good lacing. Aroma is all grainy, mostly corn. Taste is slightly sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Body is light but not watery, with average carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. This one succeeds as a pale lager (far from my favorite style) and has a very loyal customer base.
MaltRates24 (1) - - SEP 23, 2018 does not count UPDATED: SEP 23, 2018 When I was a kid 1970 we used to say that Grain Belt was not good. I thought I would try it again not that I am older and wiser and wow it’s not bad in fact it’s good. Corn squeezing’s are good I am an Iowan and I like Grain Belt and the price is great
