*7/25/2014 500ml bottle poured into a Prairie Dino tulip. A~ glowing light orange with a soft white head and a lot of lacing. S~ tons of lemon up front along with floral and tea like characters. lots of wine barrel funk on the back end. also a little hay/straw like aspects. T~ the lemongrass comes in first and punches you right in the face! followed by a burst of lemony tartness, oak, and wine barrel funk. a bunch of chamomile on the back end that lingers on the tongue. M~ very refreshing and crazy drinkable, a little surprising for a wine barrel aged brew. wait never mind haha! perfect carbonation, exactly where i like it for this style. O~ this is incredible, no surprise it went so fast. you can really tell exactly what went into this brew, its just so well balanced! i really love what HF has been doing with wine barrels lately. Le Sarrasin along with this both have very similar barrel characteristics, i wouldn’t be surprised if they used the same type of wine barrel. this is also very similar to Tired Hands Parageusia1, i think they’ve been talking haha! now lets just hope for another HF/Grassroots Tired Hands colab.! but in the mean time we have these amazing works of art to hold us over. thankfully!

Bottle at TradeBook Tasting. Thanks! Poured a hazzy yellow colour quite clouded, with a small white head. Nose has a lot of that classic Hill farmstead wine barrel upfront, light tart dry wine, oak, lemongrass, soft grains, white grapes, sweet lemons, chamomile tea. Taste is light tart white wine upfront, vineous, grapes, and lemons. The chamomile may have fallen off a bit. But this is still very delicate and complex. Lovely. More like a Saison for me do.

Bottle courtesy of Belair50. Pours hazy golden with a small frothy offwhite head that leaves some sticky lacing on the glass while dissipating. Bottle @ Mike’s. Milky golden orange beer with a white head. Really nice fruity aroma of melon, pineapple, and grapefruit. Pretty acidic and mildly funky. Nice apple pie and crusty sweetness. Some sweet stone fruit character, light peppery funk, and some musty, damp funk. Nice stuff.

500 mL bottle. Clear golden yellow with a nice white head. Thick chunky collar and a bit of lacing. Nose is lots of white wine. Light citrus. A bit of tea-like herbal character. Some sweetness too. Citrus flavor up front and a light tartness. Sweet pale malt also. Lemongrass is really strong here. Citrusy and grassy. The chamomile gives it an interesting kinda earthy herbal flavor. White wine becomes much more prominent in the finish. Medium body. Very lightly tart. Medium carbonation. Wine barrel is delicious, as always from HF. Maybe too sweet, but the herbal additions are interesting enough that it doesn’t bother me.
