COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: If you had the 8.1% abv version marketed since 2014 as a Double India Pale Ale, this is the wrong beer page. Please rate under Green Flash West Coast IPA (2014 -).

This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.

Beese (12774) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2020 12oz bottle at Beermongers, Portland, OR on 24/09/2010. I’m fairly certain that this is the first time I ever had a been that was dubbed a ‘West Coast IPA’. I mean, it absolutely was, in the most wonderful way. Huge and resinous and bitter and piney and citrusy. It had the perfect amount of malty flavour that just balanced it out perfectly, without making the beer sweet in any way.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2020 12oz bottle at Cast & Plow (Ritz Carlton, Marina del Rey) on 28-Jan-2020. Hazy amber colour with a medium sized beige head which quickly disappears leaving nice lacing down the glass. Aroma of malt, citrus and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of sweet malt, caramel, grapefruit, mango, apricot and floral hops. High level of bitterness on the palate with heaps of fruit and hops. A well balanced IPA - excellent.

Fisler (2189) - Bamberg, GERMANY - OCT 20, 2019

Beerwithwings (3008) - Alton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2019
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2019 Can at home. It's a good fashioned ipa that has plenty of pine but not overly bitter

PhillyCraft (11988) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 19, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2019 Backlog, bottle that pours a darker golden with medium white creamy head. Nose and flavor of ultra piney and resinous hip flowers: grapefruit, ash, light sweet malt, lemon and toast. Lighter bodied with bitter finish. Can be drinkable when fresh

Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAR 18, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2019 A typical solid West Coast IPA. Not too many on the East Coast get it right like this. Flavor is excellent...both malty and hoppy with a good balance. Cloudy darker orange-light brown appearance with off-white head. Citrus, pine, and floral notes in the aroma and flavors. Only had a single this time, but will probably get a 4-pack to sample some more.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2019 Got this beer in a selection box gift but wow what a find. To be honest would never have bought this beer from the label as it looks pretty uninspiring but great full flavoured beer with lots of hops and a long finish. Very nice

soyraul (310) - - APR 29, 2018

OsuStu (495) - - DEC 17, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 17, 2017 Draft. Copper color with a white head. Hoppy, herby, and fruity aromas. Tropical fruit, pine resin, caramel, and grapefruit. Lingering bitter finish, almost too much.

matts63 (7) - Alpharetta, GEORGIA - NOV 25, 2017 does not count
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2017 22 oz bomber poured into TMac 20oz mug. Hazy copper color with thin head. Aroma is piney, resinous with citrus overtones. Flavor is fresh hops up front the fades into a toasty malt and ends with a nice bitterness. Overall, I love this beer; it’s one of my “go to” west coast style IPAs.
