UPDATED: OCT 4, 2020 Bottle. Brown pour wit a fleeting off white head. Toffee/earthy bouquet. On the sweeter side with caramel up front, chocolate, leather, toffee, oak, and walnuts. Hints of spice from the rye. Great dearth and complexity. Good mouthfeel and body.

PowY (3777) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JAN 29, 2018
355 ml bottle, vintage 2015 at Sander's place shared by Werckmeister, many thanks! Pours a dark mahogany with no head. Lots of bourbon in the aroma along with vanilla and some booze. Really nice bourbon forward smell. Full body with hardly any carbonation, a medium sweetness and a light bitterness - very balanced. Again lost of bourbon in the flavor along with sweet malt - brown sugar, some cocoa and tobacco. Overall very balanced with lots of bourbon - really good.

355 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, thanks!
Dark brown body, with a small, dark beige head.
Aroma of bourbon, sherry, dark fruits, booze, dark chocolate, some toffee.
Tastes similar, with some more tobacco.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes medium sweet, moderate roasty, medium boozy, with bourbon, cherry, chocolate, dark fruits.

Very nice. Heavy and thick, with greatly integrated bourbon barrel. Quite typical bourbon BA ale. Comfortable, warming sipper.

LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Heerlijk. Gedroogd fruit, zoet, hout. Een heerlijke nasmaak, vol en vet van structuur.

Bottle shared by Douglas, cheers. 2015 vintage. A dark deep brown verging on black. Hugely rich boozey savoury umami aroma with whiskey and oak accents. Full bodied and velvety smooth with tons of oak and berries. This was seriously tasty stuff.

2015 bottle thanks to Douglas. Huge rye whisky nose, smoke, honey. Almost black. Low head but almost flat. A bit boozy for sure, with woody rye, cherry, honey, and a nice tartness as well. Huge barrel. Awesome fun stuff.

phaleslu (14680) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 26, 2017
12 oz. bottle shared by Prufrockstar - thanks again, Chris! Going to miss you and Summer. It pours a cloudy dark brown with minimal head, or really next to none, although some off-white bubbles form around the edge for a minute. The initial aroma has a lot of rye whiskey barrel, with charred oak, vanilla, brown sugar, and warmth, along with subtle smoke, chocolate, dark dried fruits, and earth. The flavor is along the same lines, but isn’t helped by the body, which is just a wee bit limp and lacking in carbonation. Overall, really nice but didn’t hit me the same as regular Adam or a couple other variants.

hackobock (4073) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2016
December 17, 2016. Bottle at home, vintage 2015.
Dark brown, almost black with no head. Aroma is malty, fruity, light boozy with caramel, licorice, prunes, earthy smokey leather, spicy peppery rye notes, charred woo and a light nutty note. Taste is sweet, malty, smooth bitter and slight warming. Full bodied, oily texture, almost flat. Finish is sweet malty and warming with caramel, prunes, plum in madeira, light bitterness with a burnt wood and roasted note, faint chocolate,
Nice one, very easy drinkable, sweet but nowhere near cloying.
