COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With this Strata focused west coast hazy IPA we look to the Volcano in two ways: First, the volcano captures the thing we’re always trying to discuss: Nature as all. It’s tranquil, soft and welcoming. It’s also ferocious and about to tear you limb from limb. The kids get to jiggle to Jerry’s guitar, but there’s always the thump of the heaviest doom tones over the ridge. That’s the best. ⠀ Second, Kiddie Land. Did you grow up in Chicago? There used to be an amusement park in Melrose Park, IL called Kiddie Land. At one point there was a ride called Lava Run. We’ve discovered some real love for Kiddie Land – families packing up and heading out for a day on the rides. Melting pot fun for everyone. How all this connects to a smoker IPA from Half Acre is unclear, but lucky us that we get to wind all this up inside of cans of beer.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 Can (Nov 17, 2021 canning). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (lemon oil, star fruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Very watery and kind of plain/simple, but mostly clean and inoffensive. And the appearance is genuinely hazy instead of a murky, muddy mess. Instantly forgettable but still better than most IPAs on the market.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2021 Hazy light yellow pour with a thin white head and no lacing …. Aroma of dank and rindy hops with lemon, grapefruit, pine and resinous hop … taste is of dank hops, grapefruit, lemon, pine, resinous hops, rindy and tart …. Finish is rindy with lingering resinous hops, pine, lemons and grapefruit ….. has quite a bit of sugar …. Can days IPA but the description says hazy….. decent on its own without the hazy in my opinion

ctipping (3902) - Florida, USA - APR 21, 2021
UPDATED: APR 21, 2021 16 oz. can. Hazy orange. Smells of dank and garlicky hops with tropical fruit. Tastes of more dank and slightly oniony hops. Light pale malt sweetness. Moderate herbal and pine bitterness, but it still has the acidity of a hazy IPA. Medium body. Good hop profile that keeps it interesting and drinkable, despite that it has the same pitfalls as other hazies.
