COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged for two years on Manitoba sour cherries, the complexity of the award winning flanders red ale has developed through mixed fermentation and patience. Vibrant notes of tart cherry, balsamic, and plum, lead towards a bright, slightly tannic finish.
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2021 Can. Dark reddish brown in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of cherry, charred barrel, pomegranate molasses, and brine. Flavors of balsamic vinegar, tart cherry, cola, lactic acid, and whole wheat bread dough. Quite acidic and mildly funky. Definite Rodenbach vibes. Felt like it needed a bit more carbonation.
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2020 I agree with cards04 that I don't get a strong cherry taste from this, although there's kind of a hint of floral cherry in the aftertaste. And definitely balsamic vinegar. I'd like to try this back to back with Old Red Barn. Seems like the cherries have slightly softened and added a floral element to the beer, though not a dramtically different as you might expect. Still, the original beer is great, if you like intensely sour beer, which this is, and it's good.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2020 Pours a dark brown with reddish tints. Aromas of sour cherry, sour milk, vinegar. Stings the nostrils. Tastes like it smells with a fairly hard balsamic finish. Definitely hoping for more cherry in this.
