COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep copper colored ale blends a spectrum of malts to build a medium bodied, full flavored beer. The German hops provide a subtle aroma and a clean, bitter finish. The Harpoon 100 Barrel Series Alt is well-balanced, smooth, and refreshing.

Tap. Amber pour with a white head. Caramel, fruits, hop. Medium body. Slightly bitter finish. Decent

Nice color and, typical of the style, easy to drink. At times too similar to other Harpoon products A bit flatter than I like.

I finally tracked one of these down. Worthwhile, though a bit weak even for the style. Amber/reddish with a white head. Smells roasty with some rosey elements. Taste is sweet and fruity with a decent finish.

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 28, 2005
Deep amber and clear with a god off white head. Aroma is lots of munich and some toasted malts along with some nutty hints and a touch of hops. Flavor is malty with some caramel sweetness and a good bittering finish. Pretty smooth. Moderate to low for the hop aspect.

Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 9, 2005
Clear, bright amber color, slim, tight, white rings caps it off. Aroma: sweetness, from fruit and caramel tones, apples and berries, grapes, a hint of oak and vanilla, just a tease of spices. Nice. This ale meets the tongue amiably, gently passing the lips and providing a pleasant hoppy breeze. It’s a brief blitz, gritty, then dimmed. The palate is lightly touched with flavor, then it fades clean off, leaving only a faint echo. While it lingers, though, it’s a fine fruity flavor, with nutty, cola-ish edges. Medium bodied, and a supreme drinker, as quaffable as they come. An okay alt, sure, but nothing to shout about.

zathrus13 (1776) - Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA - DEC 29, 2004
Pours amber/copper. Aromas of sweet malt, brown sugar, and hops. Body is too thin, and the flavor is bland. Not as sweet as the aroma would lead you to believe, with flavors of brown sugar and hops.

axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2004
Pours clear medium/dark copper color with a tan head. Aroma is carmel and somewhat yeasty. Medium bodied with earthy malt and carmel flavors followed up with a bready finish. Let it sit a while.

Good lookin amber beer with creamy excellently retained off white head. Aroma is quite enjoyable with nice caramel maltiness and some light hops. Flavor is good, but underwhelming. Nice bread flavor with some eathiness. Pretty good alt. Opens up as it warms.

22oz bomber. Thanks Will Blake. Orange and clear with a tan head. Malty aroma. Clean tasting. Malty flavor with a touch of bitterness. Dry finish. The malt is thin and then fades quickly on the palate. Ok.
