pdx77 (1484) - Oregon, USA - NOV 23, 2014On draught at Apex. Deep dark brown color. Aroma is smoked, chocolate malt and brine, in a good way. Taste is smokey, with notes of chocolate, malt, and light hops. Smooth finish.
Art (3223) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2014Tried during CMU Scotch Ale Tasting. Pours a dark brown with a slight tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Sweet taste with a bit of a dryish finish. Not getting a ton of barrel in this one so I am guessing there is some blending. Medium thick body and medium low carb. Very enjoyable.
HarvesterOfSorrow (2863) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - NOV 19, 2013November 19, 2013 - on tap at Royal Mile. Dark brown pour with some head and lacing. Aroma was roasted malt, toffee and slight hops. Taste was consistent with aroma and had a mildly dry alcohol finish with touch of bitterness. A nice smooth creamy mouthfeel.
Scopey (21884) - Oldmeldrum, SCOTLAND - JAN 13, 2013Bottle at home. It pours very dark brown (near black) with a small dark tan head. The nose is roasted malt, chocolate, meatiness, coffee, whisky, peat, earth and salted caramel. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, wood, whisky, chocolate, mild acidity, earth, umami aspect and treacle with a warming finish. Full body, low carbonation and viscous mouth-feel. Rich and flavoursome. Good depth of flavour. Nice after dinner beer.
boFNjackson (4200) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 26, 2012Bottle @ our annual Christmas night bottle share... Poured jet black with a thin, bubbly khaki head. Some smoked, peat malt and wood on the nose. Thick, viscous plate. Not roasty, but some charred grains and wood with a thick sweetness. Lots of flavor and complexity here too. Finished with an woody incense character that seemed spot on.
SportsFarm823 (781) - Indiana, USA - AUG 3, 2012Great chocolate and roasted grain aromas with a nice earthiness underneath. Excellent flavors with great thick and sweet and coffee like roasted malts and a wonderful chocolate flavor with a great slight earthy hop undertone. Extremely smooth and great going down with no discernible alcohol heat. One of the best porters I've ever had.

bvc (1244) - Washington, USA - APR 24, 201111.2oz bottle that I am pretty sure is a 2004. Pours black and still, not overly thick in body and I had to stop pouring with a couple of fingers left to keep quite a few chunks out of my glass. Caramel, wheat bread, leather, tobacco, wet cardboard, hints of peat and raisins. Very faint signs of carbonation and a body that is lighter for the appearence yet has a syurpy feel. Cola, wet cardboard, peat, caramel, boozey oak, prune with an aspartame finish. Don’t think my neglecting this one for so long improved it in any way.
beernbourbon (1639) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - APR 24, 2011Bottled in 2002. Pour is deep still brown with a faint purple tint to it. No head, this is still now. Aroma is really really rich and velvety with tons of dark fruit, raisin, plum, light spice, brown sugar, light chocolate, and very little if any oxidation. Flavor is crazy sweet up front with a hint of tartness that follows. Then notes of dark fruit slip in quickly before a long lightly smoky coffee finish. Bitter chocolate and coffee linger for a long time. Very interesting and quite complex. But weird.
jtclockwork (21083) - , New Jersey, USA - NOV 13, 2010Bottle. Has an imperial stout flavor to it. Pours black with tan head. Nose of vanilla, wood, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste of roasted malts, whiskey, chocolate and vanilla.
