COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our version of an Oktoberfest-style beer. We named this beer for Rick’s late brother Bob; the person who sparked his interest in brewing lager beers in general and Oktoberfest beers in particular. Bright amber color. Rich, malty, and smooth, with a just touch of clean hop bitterness. If you can’t make it to Munich this fall, this beer is the next best thing. Bobtoberfest is released in September. (1.015 BG, 5.40%, 22 IBU, 9 SRM)

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2020 Can pours medium orange. While this didn;t blow my socks off (and is not MY personal favorite in style) it's textbook in style, so I can see why it's #1. Bready, malty, a touch bitter and earthy with a hint of toffee too. Glad to have 3 more as the mood hits.

brokensail (18691) - Bay Area, California, USA - SEP 7, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2020 Bottle @ Home. Clear copper beer with a creamy off-white head. Plenty of toffee, molasses bread, and toast. Get some nice floral hops on the nose, a bit of baked apple, and some toasted marshmallow. Really solid flavor, too. Big caramel, toast, vanilla, and biscuit. Just a touch of floral and spicy hops. Sweet, but not overly so. Excellent example of the style.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2020 Can from The Masonry.

This is pretty much beer-as-a-meal. Lovely bready fullness, fields and grain, just right on the damn mark as one would expect from Heater Allen. Lovely and I'd love to try on draft.

Bobtoberfest was the least expensive beer I enjoyed in OR ($1.50 for 4 ounces), and it was also once of the most enjoyable beers of the trip. Well-made German-style beer from the states just makes me so damn happy. I have to conclude that Bobtoberfest is one of the best American-made Oktberfests. It's so smooth, cohesive, and drinkable that it's difficult to appreciate its elements. This is a beer that wants to be gulped down quickly. Grainy and sweet malt aromas. Flavors of toffee, apricot, honey, caramel, and biscuit. Finish is clean and lightly hoppy. Marvelous stuff.

troopie (4502) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - SEP 14, 2017
Draught. Dark amber with thin white head. Malty aroma with some caramel. Flavour is sweet malt with enough bitterness to keep it from getting cloying. Long malt finish

Bottle in Seattle. Psyched to have them distributed up here now. Clear brown-orange appearance, very nice. Creamy thin head. Honey and bitter caramel malts on nose. Very smooth sip. Nice grain flavors, with a dark caramel note. Touch of honey. Very tasty.
