COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This pale and refreshing lager is a delightful play on Heater Allen’s recipe for a German-style Pilsner, using Willamette Hops for flavor and aroma. One of the original hops developed by Oregon State University and at one point the most wildly grown hop in Oregon, using Willamette Hops pays homage to the fruitfulness of the Willamette Valley in harvest season. A collaboration between Heater Allen and Visit McMinnville to showcase our part of Oregon to the masses.

Taste similar to the aroma, quite sweet at first sip, then some balance. Small but of hop in the after taste. Nice medium mouth feel carbonation is soft for the syle..makes it better Nothing great just a good American lager

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2020 Can from Tavour. Pours brassy gold with a transient white head. Aroma is lightly bready with floral and spice notes. Med body or so. Flavor is bready with spice and floral notes. Fairly towards dry. Spice increases with time. Bitter enough for a pils. Seems like Willamette is similar to Saaz in some ways. Nice, pleasantly drinkable pils.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2020 Heater Allen makes some of the best European varieties in Oregon. This full flavor lager is just plain delicious. At 5 abv I can’t image a more flavorful, complex brew. Mouthfeel is unusually heavy both for this style and for a 5 abv beer. Can graphics too are a home run. Canned 9/162020...so plenty fresh

Mr.Spooks (4080) - Tennessee, USA - NOV 4, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2020 Odd, heavy and somewhat vegetal for a pils, with notes of citrus and cut grass but also a little chive and lemon, backed up by grain, mushrooms, and a mild briny vein. Interesting, but not something I’d seek out again.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2020 Pours clear amber with a two finger white head. Aroma is rich caramel, light citrus and light hops. Taste is rich caramel, moving to light lemon and light hoppiness. Finish is the same. Good pils.
