UPDATED: MAY 23, 2021 Vanilla about sums it up. Very pleasant aroma and taste of vanilla cream. Really deceives you into thinking its sweet, but it’s really not. Has a slight bitterness that balances the vanilla. Seems like some lactose. Not complex but very enjoyable in it’s simplicity .

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste vanilla, sweet, marshmallow. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brigadier (4590) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 20, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2019 On tap at GTMW 2019 If you were to take a standard cream ale to the extreme end of the vanilla spectrum it would probably wind up as this. The results lack the pleasant depth of a more balanced and nuanced cream ale. However if you enjoy a good Barqs cream soda then it will be right up your alley. AROMA / APPEARANCE A surge of sweet vanilla, cream soda, and semisweet malts linger in the air with a soda like profile. The laid back head even has a cool vanilla tint as it dances on the surface of the creamy rose gold base. FLAVOR / PALATE Low key earthy hops, vanilla extract, and cream soda enrich the mouthfeel. The transition imbues the throat with a sweet bubbly feel that then begins to melt away into a soft finish. It does begin to become a little predictable after a few ounces. Overall something like this is best enjoyed in small doses or if you want to see what a clever brewer can do with a style where you can't hide your mistakes.

thegreenrooster (6180) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 14, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 14, 2019 Pour is a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is vanilla. It reminds me of the icing you get on those store bought birthday cakes. Flavor is again vanilla but not as sweet as I thought it was going to be. Finish leaves a harsh dry grain on the tongue. Not that great and I defy anyone to have more than one of these in a sitting.

seymour (2587) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - APR 28, 2019
UPDATED: APR 28, 2019 On draft in pint glass at Firecracker Pizza in the Grove, it poured a hazy golden colour with weak white foam. 'Intense vanilla' is right, completely overpowering everything else. Perhaps there's a nice refreshing cream ale underneath there, but it was impossible to tell. Not very balanced, not very good.
