tennisjoel (1933) - Rochester, Minnesota, USA - OCT 29, 2019UPDATED: OCT 29, 2019 Bomber rating. Funky jewbelation showcases a dark brown body with a khaki head. Nose of bourbon, caramel malts, sweet candy, vanilla. Flavor is bourbon with some tartness, dark fruit. Nice play off of the tart and sweetness. Dangerously drinkable.
beechner224 (1024) - Ellicott City, Maryland, USA - SEP 12, 2015Bottle to glass. Pours a dark brown and tan head. Aroma is super sweet tart, like a flanders. Taste is similar, some bourbon with some tangy sweetness. Its an interesting beer. Like a mix between a falnders red and a bourbon barrel barleywine.
Huhzubendah (3781) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 14, 2015Brown body, mostly clear with a small collar. Wood, booze, sweet malt, fruit, raisins, earth. Lots going on, but imbalanced and is too much for the palate to decipher. Lacking cohesion. Best shared with a group.
PartyFowle (954) - - MAY 7, 2015Draft. Purple-black, like bruised plum juice. Half a finger of dark tan head. Nose: dark, tart cherry, vanilla, oak, balsamic vinegar, green apple, subtle dark chocolate, a little maple. Phenomenal. The flavor is very different from the aroma -- more malt, more sweetness and more roast. Green apple again, vinegar, a hint of lemon, oak. More stout here as well, along with bourbon, butterscotch, vanilla and smooth milk chocolate at the finish. Vinous green oak, too. So much going on. Very complex. Tart cherries, chocolate syrup. A hint of barnyard funk and toast. Like chocolate bars left in an oak barrel. Medium body, moderate carbonation, small amount of large-bubble fizz. A bit of funky, lemony astringency. Alcohol is pretty well-hidden. Great, complex brew.
Beerdedone (4044) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2015Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, bourbon, caramel and vanilla. Flavor was very rich with bourbon, molasses, caramel, chocolate, oak, dark fruit and vanilla.

slowrunner77 (19086) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014A blend of 6 different Hebrew beers, 73% aged in rye whiskey barrels, 27% in bourbon. The complexities, to an extent, got lost in the shuffle. I was expecting the barreling to really stand out, but the beer was far more tart and sour than i expected. not in a bad way, just unexpected. it seemed to be going for a Firestone Walker Anniversary type of blend, and ended up with something, well...funky. Dug the sour cherry aroma and underlying flavor. Lots of dark fruit and roast, a little of the barrels does come thorugh. Good brew, just not as great as I’d hoped."
SDalkoholic (2459) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 30, 2014Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Appeared a dark opaque brown color and formed almost no formation of head except for a tiny layer of fizz. Aroma is strong smell of wood barrel and a faint background of sweet malt. The flavor is funkier than a 1970’s blaxploitation soundtrack, and delivers an intense sugary sweet taste of caramelized malt, molasses syrup, brown sugar, raisin, plum and dark chocolate. Interesting recipe of how 6 different styles of beers came together and then met the wood barrels, but somehow I wasn’t that impressed.
gschrade (1446) - Collinsville, Illinois, USA - JUN 2, 2014I had this at Global Brew. Pours reddish with tan head. Taste lightly tart, sweet, fruity, boozy. I thought this was good, reminded me of a sour. I would drink this again.
